Pretty favorable with the exception of the home loan process., September, 2016

I recently purchased a home. My first choice for a loan was bank of America, since I already used them. I followed through and met at the bank, and then started talking to a loan officer. He was very nice, however he stopped responding to me. I ended up having to go with someone else for the loan. I had great credit, a stable job, and enough income. I also was 100% sure I was buying. It ended up being a hassle to communicate with the bank and I chose to abandon the effort with them. Now I only use them for me checking and savings accounts, as well as my credit card. Which I am happy with, aside from the small interest I receive, which is laughable. The cash rewards are very favorable.

It has been an unpleasant and expensive experience because of their high fees., September, 2016

I did the math and realized that I'm spending over $150 per year just in fees with this bank, and they don't even let you close an account easily. In order to close an account with this bank, you have to submit your request in writing. You can open an account in person, so why can't you close an account in person? The only thing you can do when you want to close an account (other than send a letter) is to speak with someone at the bank, who is really just trained as a retention specialist. Why? Because they don't want to lose you, their cash cow. It's all about fees, fees and more fees. That's really all they are interested in. It's unfortunate, but true. They don't care about providing any services for free.

It has been wonderful., September, 2016

Shortly after my divorce, my credit of course was completely ruined. I went in and applied for a credit card thinking that I would get declined like all the other places, but they were the first to offer me one. Granted, it was a secured card, but after making timely payments, after a year I got my deposit back and a credit increase. As far as their savings and checking account solutions, I couldn't be more pleased. I have a checking account and I have two savings accounts. A representative helped me set up my second savings account in a way that I wouldn't get charged any fees since this was an account to put extra money in to keep separate from my main savings. They are always friendly and courteous. At one time, my debit card information had been stolen (a merchant was hacked and I was among a group that had their information stolen). Not only did they reverse everything after I filed my complaint, but they were very helpful in getting me another card quickly. I recently got remarried, and they were very helpful getting us set up. Since we decided that neither one of us want a joint account (we both have been burned by ex-spouses taking our money when they left), we decided that in the event of an emergency, or if something were to happen to either one of us, we would need access to the other person's account. A lady helped us get that completed, a lot faster than I thought. Since my husband works crazy hours, we both didn't need to be there to complete the paperwork. I was able to go up on a day that he had to work with his information, and when he got off that evening, he was able to go in and do his park by showing his ID and SS#. It's things like this that make a better banking experience. Even though their fees are in my opinion a little outrageous. There are always ways around them, you just need to talk to a representative. I would definitely recommend Bank of America to those who are able to use them.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Bank of America, September, 2016

I have been a Bank of America customer for over 10 years. In my area, they have many convenient locations and ATM's. When I travel, I can always find a Bank of America location for my banking needs. Along with being convenient, I have had nothing but positive experiences with the bank. I have a Bank of America checking account, savings account, and credit card. The bank does a great job of making these three accounts work together for my benefit. My bank account rolls over and extra change from transactions into my savings account which is a very nice feature. My credit card has a high limit and a low rate for when I need to make an unexpected purchase. I have had nothing but positive interactions with Bank of American and their employees. My concerns are always important to them and they are able to meet all my needs.

I like the convenience and customer service of this bank., September, 2016

I originally got this account because my parents had an account with them. I never really had a problem with them during the ten years I was with them. Every time there was an accidental over draft, they would waive it. They seem to care that I am a long time customer. They don't really seem to push new offers on me too often and I haven't really be annoyed in that way. I really like how there are a lot of Bank of America atms and branches around. I don't like their rates, but I don't plan on having them for my most used credit cards or savings account anyways. They are just convenient and reliable. Customer service is responsive. And I feel protection from fraud. I will probably stick with BOA for a long time.

It went from ok to terrible in the time i spent with this company., September, 2016

I really feel like at first, this company was promising. They had a nice intro rate, an attractive checking and savings account package, and their staff was all very friendly and nice. As time went on, they would pressure me to sit down with their personal bankers and discuss things I never would want. I can't prove it, but i'm pretty sure I got labeled or flagged as a bad customer since I never was interested in their products (other than the accounts I already had) because after a few months, the service was just TERRIBLE. The staff became rude and even would take customers in line after me, before I got a chance to go. I ended up switching to another Bank of America bank (further away, but different building) and they treated me the same. I normally would think this is a common denominator situation, but I am honestly a passive, nice guy, I just don't want their propaganda.

Overall, it has been very easy as I use the ATM almost exclusively., September, 2016

Opening an account was fairly streamlined and the banker who assisted me was pleasant. I have an ATM only account which means that fees should be assessed if I need to go into the bank. However, the fees times I have it was for a special circumstance and fees were waived (which I appreciated.) At one point, their ATM was not working and they handled my request expeditiously. Further, I have had to file a couple of (relatively) small charge-backs and they handled them for me over the phone with no hassle. There was one issue where the replacement debit card they sent me did not work and, frankly, it was a real pain as it took a while for the issue to be resolved. Other than that, I have no complaints and have been a long time customer.

It has been mostly good, a few issues with fees but overall good, September, 2016

For the most part it is always easy to get ahold of a representative on the phone. There are a ton of branches all over so it is convienient. One time a few years ago I got upset because I was charged for someone writing me a bad check and I did not feel that was fair to me. The rates are pretty comparable to other banks and credit unions so I am happy with that. My credit card is also with them and the interest rate is a decent rate that I could get from any bank. If I could change anything it would be better rewards. The rewards they offer are small and for individual retailers. I would like rewards like cash back from all retailers or for paying on time.

Experience has been great, September, 2016

My experience with this bank has always been exceptional. When I opened an account with Bank of America it was originally because I just received my first job and wanted a bank account with direct deposit. At the time I was also a part time student, which meant I didn't need to pay any monthly fees. They are always friendly whenever I come in. Another experience with this bank is with the safety deposit box feature. I recently needed to open one for my personal items, the price for a year was exceptional and the whole procedure was quick and painless. One last experience I've had with this bank is the use of online chat and phone services. If I ever need to ask a question on my account they are available anytime I need them and it makes finding out my answers an easy process, and not stressful.

It has been a pleasant expereince., September, 2016

My experience with this bank has been great. I was recommended by a friend when I was young and needed a checking account. With Bank of America, I was able to open a student account, and that was the only requirement. But I know that as I reach out of the student years, I probably would not be in a student account anymore. The other option to open an account is to keep $1,500 in the bank per month. So as I opened up my student account, I started saving. I opened up a student checking account, and a student savings account. I was smart to only keep a low amount in checking till it reached the minimum, and kept everything else in the savings account. I earned a good amount of interest over the years. The customer service I got was excellent. They were patient and helped me with anything. If I had questions, they were happy to reply. As for personal bank use, I had a good experience. I had a time where I overdraft, and usually banks will charge you but Bank of America never charged me. I deposit cash to make up the debt within the week and they were okay with it. Although I was worried, it taught me a lesson and I never overdraft. I have no troubles with online service. Everything shows up correctly. I am able to locate what I want. I have no problems with ATM's. Overall, I haven't had any problems with any service with my bank.

My experience with this bank has been generally positive, and as I expected it to be., October, 2016

I have been with this bank for quite a long time (over a decade now). I have had generally positive experiences with this bank, although I have not had to make much use of customer service. I prefer to do my banking at ATMs and online, so this bank's infrastructure is perfect for my needs. I also travel quite a bit and I can find branches of this bank almost everywhere I go, so I appreciate the convenience of being able to find a branch wherever I might happen to be if I need to do so. One of my local bank branches are also located extremely close to where I live, close enough to walk to if I so chose, and I appreciate the convenience of having a bank branch located exactly where it is most convenient for me.

Top of the line in customer service., October, 2016

I have had an account with Bank of America for 2 years now and I'm very pleased with my service. They have the best website out of any bank or credit card that I've used. It is amazingly easy to navigate and find the service that I need and to use them in an easy and quick manner. I was interested in setting up an automatic deposit each month from my checking to my savings account and it only took me about 3 minutes to figure out how to accomplish this. It is nice to use a website that is streamlined and doesn't take me half an hour to figure out how to use. If when I do have a problem that I can't figure out they always have a customer service agent who is nice and friendly and ready to help me figure it out quickly.

My overall experience has been positive, but I've only had one type of account here to judge., October, 2016

I chose Bank of America when I was a student about to go off to college. It seemed like the most logical choice since there were branches everywhere. I opened up a student checking account and got a checkbook and debit card. This worked well for me as I used these two things to make all my payments and purchases and didn't need anything else. This was back in 2006 and I am still with Bank of America 10 years later. My account has since changed to a standard checking account and has a monthly fee, but there are a couple of fairly easy ways to waive this and I haven't had to pay it for quite awhile. I haven't had any real issues with the bank and the couple of times I've had questions customer support answered them and the experience was positive. All-in-all I would say Bank of America is just a solid place to bank at, at least in my experience with just a checking account. The convenience of having so many branches nearby and the ease of its online banking are what keep me as a customer.

Decreasing level of service as time went on, October, 2016

The level of service we've received has decreased as time has gone on. It seems that the longer you're a customer, the less effort they put into maintaining you. We've seen the "perks" and other things offered to us dwindle away since we became customers. However, it seems this has been a trend across the entire banking industry. As regulation has increased, banks have been less able to charge fees to increase their bottom line, the the amount of free services offered has decreased. With that being said, the customer service we receive at this bank has remained consistent. They have continued to provide good customer service and fulfilled our banking needs. We have presented them with a number of odd requests and they have been able to fulfill them to our satisfaction.

    Tons of fees., October, 2016

I've had this bank since my parents setup my very first bank account when I was a kid. It hasn't been bad but they do charge fees for almost anything and everything. Out of network ATM fees, savings account fees, credit card fees, everything fees everywhere. They did approve me for my first credit card rather easily though. And they have raised the credit limit on my card considerably since I opened it without much hassle. The online banking platform works fine and I use it all the time. They have added some nice features to the online banking. They have cash back deals if you spend at certain places, restaurants for example, some stores and they change the offers each month so you can actually get some money back from buying things at different places.

It has been what I expected it to be., October, 2016

I started using this bank about fifteen years ago. It was the only major bank in my town, so convenience was a key part in me choosing it. About three years later, the bank closed down the branch and moved to a neighboring town. I continued to do business with them because I did not want to go through the haste of finding a new one and transferring money and info. So far, I have not had any major problems with them. When I have had an issue, they have handled it promptly and appropriately. Their interest rates and fees are pretty average compared to their counterparts. The one nice thing about them is that they have ATM locations around the country so you do not have to worry about paying ATM fees.

My experience with Bank of America has been acceptable., October, 2016

I have no experience opening an account with Bank of America since it acquired my accounts from another bank. The bank has a good number of ATM locations in my area. The customer service at branch locations, on the rare occasion I need to transact something in person, is acceptable if unremarkable. The customer service over the phone is at the level one would expect from any large company: sometimes the automated prompts are longer and more complicated than one would prefer, but they are not too onerous. The bank's website is fairly well organized and easy to use. The bank's email and website security procedures seem to be strong and I've never had any account information compromised. My account types have been changed two or three times, which is an annoyance since that has meant changes to account minimums and fee structures. The interest offered on my accounts is adequate given that no banks are offering any significant interest on checking or savings accounts at this time.

It's been what I imgaine is similar to a relationship with an abusive spouse, October, 2016

I've had this account since back in my college days. During that time, I was essentially ambushed and bullied into an account (didn't know much better back then, was fairly timid - easy prey). From that time forward it's felt like a never-ending battle. Over the years I've paid hundreds of dollars in expensive overdraft fees. Considering that banks are allowed to lend money out based on how much they hold, it's a little absurd that banks allow overdrawing at all (or that it isn't an optional feature). Later, when I began freelancing, a monthly maintenance fee was added each month for failing to deposit more than $125 at one time. Absolutely ridiculous. It's legalized robbery. I hate this bank but don't switch because I'm pretty sure I hate and distrust all banks. Until I find one that I am sure is less repugnant I suppose I'll deal with this one. The customer service has been consistently good throughout the years, and it had better be considering what dealing with the actual bank is like.

This bank really helps customers out when they're in a bind., October, 2016

It's very easy to work with customer service. They are trained to be professional and assists the customer with problem or concerned. This is the main reason why I stayed with this bank. For instance, when I had to pay overdraft fees, I called customer service and to my surprise the fee got waived right away. The customer service clerk didn't ask too many questions and was genuinely willing to help. I had another issue with identity fraud and I thought it would take me months to fix this problem. US Bank was very responsive and helped me out a great deal to resolve the problem. For their credit cards, I would say that the offer is similar to most banks. It is slightly harder to get a credit card from this bank though as opposed to others.

It has been great with few glitches, October, 2016

I have been a customer with this bank since 2012 and i have been doing my predominant transactions through this back. I like their services including web support, App support and in person support though it takes unexpectedly long time to get through call. And its now better for me to get to know that they are doing well using CHAT Services. Since i am holding Checking and savings account, So i ended up having fine each month as 5$ for saving account which always had less than required amount of 300 and i have not noticed for a year or so. I felt its their responsibility to notify us by making call since i have been actively doing my all transactions thru checking. Other than that its best of america bank.

I have had a reasonably good experience with them, October, 2016

I have been with bank of America for about two years and the majority of problems stem from my frivolous spending. I have had a good overall experience with them and I am glad I chose them as my bank. They are very conveniently close to me and work with just about any payment situation I need. Before having direct deposit in use, cashing or depositing checks was very simple but sometimes carried error. I have only had to contact customer service a handful of times over complications in conflicting fees that resulted in unreasonable charges. I do hate the amount of hidden fees and penalties, but most are avoidable under good judgement. Overall I rate Bank of America a solid four stars out of five. Convenience at it's best

It has been a pretty solid experience overall, October, 2016

I think this bank is pretty solid and have no plans of leaving anytime soon. I wish they had a better interest return on accounts but I think that is pretty standard for most banks these days. Also, once we did not use them as out mortgage holder anymore, they dropped other perks as well, like overdraft checking, etc. On the flip side, when we had fraudulent charges on our account recently, they returned the money right away, which was extremely helpful as we are not in a position financially to wait on money like that. Overall I would say the customer service is pretty helpful and knowledgeable. They do not send out their customer service over seas and you can always get a real person on the phone. Pretty good experience overall.

Great experience, just wish the interest rates were higher so we could keep the CD we had years back., October, 2016

We have banked with BofA ever since we got married in 2004, so 12 years now. The checking account has no fees and neither does the savings as long as you maintain the minimum, so that is good. We took out the Amex credit card for a while but that did have fees and we weren't really using it, so cancelled it and we keep separate cards in another bank. Wish that we weren't charged fees on the Amex even if we don't use it much and we pay it on time. We had a CD account years back that was paying us $200 a month, but a dip in interest rates caused us to earn almost nothing on that account so we closed it. That may be due to rates set by the feds as well, however. Customer service experience has always been great -- friendly people and quick response. In addition, BoFA is very good at emailing alerts for things like low balance or promotions. Good communication to customers. Overall positive.

I bank with them because of the convenience they offer me., October, 2016

The first checking account I ever opened was with Bank of America. It was the closest bank to our house by far, and was the bank that my parents used. I ended up opening a checking account, a savings account, and a CoD. They didn't really offer me anything else besides convenience, but I stuck with them for several years. Customer service was ok, but nothing to write home about. I ended up moving out of my home state when I got married and closed my Bank of America account because I joined my husband's bank. We did end up with an auto loan through Bank of America. We bought a used car and got financing at the dealership. That was a mistake that we will never make again, as our interest rate on that loan was quite high. After about 5 years, he got a job offer across the country and of course, his bank doesn't have any branches in the state we live in now. We decided to open new accounts with Bank of America, because again, they're so convenient. They have branches everywhere across the country, which makes it so easy to do your banking. Despite me signing up for our new accounts with my married name, their system put my maiden name on EVERYTHING. I went to a branch to change the PIN on my debit card because it never came in the mail, and they didn't want to do anything because the name on the account doesn't match my ID. It's such a massive hassle and now I have to put in the effort to get it fixed, when it was their system that made the mistake in the first place. I doubt we'll change banks again though, because that alone is too much work and once again, Bank of America is everywhere.

My experience has been that Bank of America is about on par with other big banks in terms of exploitative fees and low interest on savings., October, 2016

I opened my personal checking account with Bank of America over 12 years ago, because it was easy to apply, they had desirable online options, and they had the most ATMs around the area where I lived and worked at that time. There was no account maintenance fee at that time, because I was opening a basic account that mainly relied on ATM and online transactions. Well, my use of the account has not changed (still mostly electronic, rarely stepping into a branch or interacting with a human), but of course the lack of account fees has changed. I pay 12.00 a month now for the privilege of doing everything myself electronically. Naturally, the interest they pay on savings is ludicrously low, but that is no different from every other bank these days. As a result, I keep my savings in an online bank instead.

Bank of America resolves issues quickly and efficiently; I have never felt like switching to another bank., October, 2016

Bank of America provides a variety of services, like checking accounts and credit cards. I have had a checking account with Bank of America for many years. There have been times when they charged me unnecessarily high fees but waived them after I contacted them. Overall, the bank's customer service is efficient at getting issues resolved. The banks are also in most locations so accessing an ATM is not very difficult. Bank of America has reasonable account fees for the ATM-only account; so long as I do not need to use a teller, I never pay monthly fees. The locations are typically very clean and inviting. Bank of America offered me a credit card after several years of being a member. I was approved and have been able to increase my credit score because of them. All in all, I have had pleasant experiences as a Bank of America customer.

My experience with the bank was driven by convenience and has been sustained by laziness., October, 2016

I began banking with Bank of America in late 2001. I was new to the area and the previous bank at which I had done my banking, citibank, did not at the time have any branches available. I was living out in the suburbs of a northeastern city at the time and didn't have a car. The only bank within walking distance from my home was a bank that would later be purchased and folded within the Bank of America empire. So I started off with a regional US bank and ended up with a multinational bank, a giant faceless corporation.

The branch experience where I was living was quite good. The bank agent was friendly, I recall, and in addition to recommending savings and checking accounts for me suggested some certificates of deposit I also might be interested in. For a few years I did put money into CDs at Bank of America as well. But for the last few years I have exclusively used Bank of America for checking and savings.

The main reason I wish to change banks is self-interested: the interest paid on savings accounts at Bank of America is pathetic. But I'd also like to shift my banking to a more socially responsible, preferably local bank. I am looking into the possibility of moving some or all of my money to a credit union near where I work.

My experience has been seamless., October, 2016

I have been with Bank of America since I was 18 years old. They have always treated me with respect and had my best interest at heart. They have alerted me to better deals and advantages that I could take advantage of with credit cards and have made suggestions so that I can avoid fees, such as with overage protection. Whenever I have called with a question, they have always been very helpful and polite and solved my problem promptly. When there has been a question about fees, they have always been quick to explain, or remedy it by reversing the fee for me. I feel like I am getting excellent service with a bank that has an excellent reputation. I also like that they are very well known and I can access an atm practically anywhere I am. I would recommend them to anyone.

I only chose this bank due to the convenience and have not been satisfied with any other aspect., October, 2016

I only use this bank due to the convenience of it being located all over the country. I recently moved from Arizona to Massachusetts and was able to maintain my accounts without having to switch over. Like most large bank chains however, they offer awful rates and fees. Once I feel more secure in a long-term job and living arrangement, I plan on finding a better local bank that offers far better rates, fees, and services. I feel as if I have gotten zero return on my savings at Bank of America, and have to be very cognizant of not accruing any fees. It has been extremely convenient and easy to find ATM's when needed though. Overall, I would be extremely hesitant to recommend this, or any other similar large bank, to any friends or family.

Good, not many issues, October, 2016

Had to do a chargeback, after 3 times of calling they fixed the issue. At first they denied my claim because had signed the credit slip, but it was a bad situation I really didn't have a choice. I would call and re-explain and then they would tell me that they would fix it, but then they would send me a letter of denial and I would have to call back. After the third time it was finally fixed. Other than that there have really been no issues, I have had overdrawn my account a couple of times and most of the time they give a partial refund of fees or credit them back to me completely. I really like the fact that they do not charge overdraft fees if it is from a debit purchase.

A functional working relationship., October, 2016

I have been with them for about 10 years. I do no like how their savings account does not really offer any great interest. They are very stingy with how much credit they allow for the credit card. I was able to get two fees removed yesterday be asking the bank manager politely so I was quite happy with that. Bank staff is generally quite nice to me when I come in and make a deposit. I don't have to pay any other fees for monthly maintenance so that's nice. Having seen a few banks' mobile apps, I can say that Bank of America has the best one. It looks nice and is easy to use. I feel confident using their app as well as their website. There are a lot of branches in my area but finding an ATM is not always easy. Not many branches have a coin counting machine, unfortunately.

This is been one of the best experiences I've ever had with a bank, October, 2016

I have been surprisingly pleased with Bank of America. I had heard many negative things about this bank in the past, so I was hesitant to sign up with them. I tried to apply at a few other banks first but could not get an account at them. Bank of America accepted me for an account and have been very friendly and welcoming. The application process was easy and the woman that signed me up was very warm and easy to work with, she made me feel welcome and wanted despite my less than stellar past with banking. I was able to express my concerns and customize my account to address them. I have been very impressed with the fees, the bank has been friendly when I have been overdrawn and their fees were much more reasonable than other banks I have been a member of. Overall I would recommend Bank of America to friends and family.

It's been great, really easy and convenient online access., October, 2016

The customer service is very friendly and based in the US, the customer service rep even tells you which state they are operating from. They also have great rewards for making purchases at businesses with your debit card, so you can earn cashback very quickly.

There are plenty of atm if you are on the road or just need quick cash and banking branches that my previous bank was lacking. I enjoy their online access, it's very convenient to use their website or iphone app. My previous bank took a long time updating their websites at night and BoA is very quick to post new transactions. The fee's are also very affordable and are much lower than other banks. Transactions are very quickly performed.

I will continue to do business with this bank and will recommend friends and family members.

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and they always handle my issues swiftly., October, 2016

Bank of America has friendly and competent staff. Much like most banks, they do charge fees for using an ATM outside of Bank of America's ATMs, which I find annoying. They offer free checks but you still have to pay shipping, which is also annoying. In the times that I've needed services, the staff is always efficient and polite, helping me get my matter taken care of quickly and easily. For my particular branch of Bank of America, there is one other thing that drives me nuts - the ATM machine is often broken. I don't go to the ATM often, but when I do, I would say that my specific function that I need is broken about 50% of the time. If I need to deposit something, deposits are unavailable. If I need some cash, cash dispensing is unavailable. They even got a new machine about 2 months ago, so it is a little ridiculous that it isn't operational.

Its been nice, they have been really helpful with everything., November, 2016

Everything that I wanted to do they have helped with. Setting up a checking and savings account was more than easy, and they had a representative to help with everything. When I traveled and my card's information got stolen they were quick to shut down the card and issue a new one. They do not give me any additional fees for when my account gets too low, just a notification telling me. With my card, I get other perks as well, such as cash back and free entry to museums and such. Overall I have been very happy with my experience with the bank as a whole for my needs. Also when I was out of the country and had to spend money there were minimal charges, but nothing of real note.

Generally good except for its fee., November, 2016

I use Bank of America because of the many locations it has in my area. There are numerous ATM locations; I can usually find one within blocks of where I am. I find their online services convenient and easy to use, and as a matter of fact do most of my banking (including bill pay and balance transfers) online. I have two Bank of America credit cards and I use their online services to manage these because the online linkage between my checking/savings accounts to be virtually seamless. On the downside I find their fee structure to be too high. For a long time I was paying a monthly service fee for my checking account, and it was only when I was informed that the fee was going to be raised did I find that I could switch to a no-fee account-an option that was not made readily apparent when I first opened the account.

My experience with the bank has been above average., November, 2016

My overall experience with Bank of America has been above average and they have always helped me when I have had problems or issues. The checking account has always been satisfactory and the few times I have had to contact customer service they were very helpful. One time when my debit card was hacked and a number of fraudulent charges were put on the card Bank of America was very helpful in resolving the problem. I called them and explained the situation and told them I didn't make these certain charges. They immediately cancelled the card and reversed the charges. They even sent me a new card that day that arrived the next week. I have also used the chat function to communicate with the customer service department when I don't have time for a phone call and they helped resolve the issues quickly as well.

It has been mixed, but in many ways disappointing., November, 2016

The bank has a high fees. They are often only friendly in a "by the book" kind of way, in which all their responses appear scripted. They have questionable policies about a number of things. Their online banking is useful, and fairly easy to navigate, which is one of the reasons I've stayed with them so long, though I might consider moving my accounts to another bank soon.

When I looked into refinancing my mortgage they came back with a very low assessment of my property value, though all other sources had my property evaluated at least 60%, up to 100% higher than the value they came up with. Their way of operating tells me their first priority is to extract as much money out of their customers as they can, and provide the minimum possible in return. It is disappointing that they act this way, but I wouldn't be surprised if most large banks work and behave this way, unfortunately.

Exceptional customer service with a company that cares about keeping my business., November, 2016

I first became a Bank of America customer in 2005 because of a promotion they were running. The one thing I liked from the beginning was their customer service. When I walked into the bank for the first time, I was warmly greeted, and they asked me what they could help me with. I wasn't left wandering around, trying to find my way in the bank. When I sat down and spoke with one of their customer service agents, he was friendly, knowledgeable about the products they offered, and helped me make the right decision even though it wasn't the most profitable choice for the bank. In that first meeting he showed me that they care about the customers, and our financial success. Opening the account was easy, and the entire process took less than an hour. And it was only that long because he thoroughly answered my questions, and explained things like their fees, and other products they offered. Since opening the account, anytime I needed answers their agents have been exceptional. And when I had problems, they were able to quickly help me solve them. I have never run into an agent having a bad day, or with an attitude. They offer a variety of accounts, even ones geared towards students with lesser fees. And they will help you find the one that fits your life. They are conveniently located, I can always find one. Their online banking system is easy to use, and allows you do things like have automatic bill payment. Overall this is the best bank I have ever dealt with.

Perfect in every way, very well taken care of, November, 2016

I had always heard good things about Bank of America from friends who have used them in the past. I decided to get a checking account with them because the fees are non-existent when you have direct deposit. I was worried this process would take a long time, but I was in and out in fifteen minutes. They helped me set up my direct deposit, then deposited cash for me. The woman who helped me was extremely knowledgeable about all the silly questions I had. I was so impressed, I decided to also open a savings account. I've had to call in with questions and got equally stellar support from their phone staff. I've had absolutely no issues and the customer service really is top notch. I'm really glad I joined Bank of America.

My overall experience has been adequate because the bank provides the basics that I need., November, 2016

Although my overall experience at this bank has been adequate, it could be better. I like the basics that the bank provides such as a checking and savings account and credit hard however the bank could really improve on its customer service. Customer service over the phone is a pain because the wait times are horrendous. When somebody finally does answer the phone, they are generally extremely unenthusiastic. I even had a representative be rude to me by interrupting and talking over the top of me and at one point calling me a liar when I told her to stop interrupting me. The online customer service is much better because I can multi-task while waiting for a response. The online representatives are generally more competent and enthusiastic. I think perhaps because after each online customer service session, customers are given a very quick survey to complete about the experience. With phone customer service, customers have to opt in to receive a phone survey asking about their experience. Most customers do not opt in because it is an inconvenience. Since phone customer service representatives are less likely as online representatives to get rated, they perhaps aren't motivated to provide awesome customer service. There was also a time when Bank of America was repeatedly charging me fees that I had no idea about. When I finally realized, I had racked up quite a bit in fees. I asked for the fees to be reversed but was denied by 2 people until I refused to get off the phone until somebody reverse the fees that I felt to be quite unfair. Despite this, I would recommend this bank to friends because it is probably better than other banks. Chase Bank got hacked and my friend had his identity stolen multiple times. Wells Fargo was involved in a fraud scheme recently. I haven't heard anything negative about Bank of America as of yet so I assume it must be the best one around.

it was a pleasant experience and the clerks were very helpful and informative., November, 2016

I first went their to set up a checking account to receive direct deposit from my job. They helped me get that started right away. A few months later i decided to open a savings account as well and they informed me of all the options available and helped me pick the best to suit my needs. I am currently talking with them about investing some money in bonds. I have no clue how bonds work so i sat down with a specialist on two occasions and he helped explain them to me. He didn't pressure me at all to make a decision. Instead he told me to take my time and sleep on it until i was ready. He gave me his person number and told me to contact him if i had any questions in the future.

    Positive and secure, November, 2016

I find their web page and phone apps to be very easy to navigate. They have, in the past, notified me immediately when something was amiss on my account. For example, someone had once gotten ahold of my credit card number. They lived in Germany, yet were able to purchase a bunch of stuff online. BoA understood what happened, put a stop to it, notified me, and didn't hold me accountable for the purchases. They were very quick and courteous in all their dealings on that matter. I was very reassured and thankful for their assistance, since it could easily have happened to any of my other credit cards. Since then, I have been confident that, should anything like that happen again, they will once again have my back and make sure I'm taken care of.

The worst experience with a bank, ever., November, 2016

When I first became a customer, everything was good and representatives were helpful, especially at the local branch. After being with them a few years, they allowed my account to be charged over 50 times and created overdraft fees for each charge, not to mention extended overdraft fees. At the time, I was away from home due to work obligations, so I had the other person on my account go to the bank and see if my account could be fixed, to which they were told it was my fault and I had to put money in my account inorder to fix the problem. I then had to make time while away at work and make a long distance call to the customer service dept. which again I was told the same thing and directed back to the local branch. When I finally get back home, $5,000 dollars in fees later, I not only proved that the charges on the account were not mine but, I made them reverse all charges and fees, which they did. However, they refused to correct my history with them and left my profile with them showing all the overdraft occurrences. It was at that point, I closed all accounts and went to another bank.

This bank is concerned with making money and meeting quotas., November, 2016

I had the same account since I was fifteen, and a few years ago I had to get a new debit card. When I went into the bank, I was informed that I had reached the "debit card limit" and would have to open a new checking account. I had never heard of this limit and had a sister and friend's mom who worked at BOA so I was confused, but I needed a debit card. So I let the guy open me a new account, without the benefits of my other account. Later on I was talking to my sister and she told me that this so called limit does not actually exist and that this man probably just needed to meet his quoto. It was ridiculous! I was lied to and scammed.

I have had more good experiences than bad, but I feel like their service has declined a lot over the last few years., November, 2016

I have banked with Bank of America since they bought out NationsBank. I don't like switching banks often, so I tolerate their fees and changes more than I should. They keep increasing minimum amounts required to avoid monthly fees, and charge fees for transactions not done by a certain time. If insufficient funds are in the account by 10:45, and a deposit is due to hit at midnight, there will be an overdraft fee. Previously, the time was midnight for all transactions, with deposits processed first. I feel the bank is trying to charge as many fees as it can and expects customers to tolerate it. On the other hand, I like the customer service provided both in person, by phone and online. I love their online Bill Pay feature. I trust Bank of America to do right by me as a customer and for now I am a loyal customer.

my bank is conveniently located with friendly staff willing to help., December, 2016

I initially applied to this particular bank because of it also being the bank of my family. Over the past few years I could have switched banks to another chain, but the services provided are comparable to others along with the added bonus of being able to walk in and speak with people able to effect changes to my accounts as needed without having to deal with much or any over the phone or mail correspondence. While interest rates may be a touch on the low side when compared to some of their competitors it is generally by a low margin and being able to get in touch with decision makers directly when needed trumps the few extra dollars at the end of the year. Being my family's bank it has always been easy to move money between family members and the few times that we've had an error it was fixed quickly without needing us to hound anyone. My one gripe would be their punitive overdraft fees, but that's an issue with many banks and I have since solved that issue with an 'overdraft protection' account along with linking my savings with my checking in case of such an event in the future.

My overall experience has been acceptable, but there are certainly areas for improvement, mainly fee structure., December, 2016

In comparison to other checking accounts, the fees on most of their non-student accounts are high. Although, I willl say that Bank of America gave me an account when I was going through tough financial times. Their credit card requirements are also strict. Bank of America would not give me $300, whereas other companies offered me up to $3000. Another positive is the number of locations across the United States. There aren't a tremendous number, but they are spread out. Unfortunately, I have seen some branches close in the last couple of years. The bank agents are very aggressive with the up-sale. But this may the case at most banks now. Sometimes, I want to just take care of this compulsory task of going to the bank without being bombarded with marketing opportunity. I don't want your home loan when I am late for work.

I have had nothing but good experiences., November, 2016

I have been with Bank of America for 16 years. I haven't had many instances when I needed their assistance with my accounts, but when I have needed them they have been very helpful. Several months ago I had a problem with my debit card and they took care of the problem quickly. Someone was using my card number to make purchases hundreds of miles away. They notices the unusual activity immediately and froze my card. Fortunately the thieves were not able to spend much money out of my account before the bank noticed it. They called me to inform me of the activity and the fact that my card was frozen. The customer service representative and I were able to quickly find which transactions were fraudulent. I had the money back in my account and a new debit card quickly.

It has been painless to be apart of this bank, December, 2016

well, one of the main reasons i chose to bank with bank of america was the fact that i like the feature of being able to deposit a check by merely taking a picture of it and it then proceeds to go directly to your account. this feature is easy to use and it sure is convenient. the customer service at bank of america is very good. i have never had a problem getting the service that i need when i need it. . the staff working at the bank always seem to be in a good mood and always ask me how my day was. a few times i have had a couple of issues with some charges that i did not make to my account. the bank employee did not hesitate to reverse these charges. i love this bank and i would recommend it to anyone

More good than bad experience over the years., November, 2016

I was a long time Wachovia customer when my son took a job managing a BOA branch. Of course, I move my accounts. He moved on from the bank several years ago but I stayed on. I am quite happy with the convenience of the services, although have not always been with the customer service. It truly works for me that I can do so much online rather than the going to the bank. I like their bill pay, auto-debit features, and that my bills can be submitted right to the bank for my viewing and payment -- no need for mail or paper. It is all saved in the same place. I have found over the last few years that they are moving away from the "little guy". I live on a very limited income and I don't go to the bank often, but the last time I went I wanted to make a deposit but didn't have a deposit slip. Instead of talking to me, finding my account number, etc. They told me to come outside and they would show me how to use the ATM -- not only did I feel rushed/pushed out the door, but had they taken even a minute to talk to me they would have found out the I was a 15 year customer and it was likely that I already knew how to use the ATM, which would indicate to me I needed to come inside the bank. They are closing branches and replacing them with machines. They encourage using the ATM for everything that you can - and even offer a no charge account if you never use a teller. It suits my purpose at this stage of my life to just stay there, but were I younger and looking toward future needs, I would likely look elsewhere.

I'm still with them after more than 20 years, but only because there's nowhere else that isn't going to have the same annoying fees., December, 2016

I became a customer of Bank of America when I was 14. It was the bank my parents used and I opened my own savings account to keep my earnings in. Over the years I have been sometimes more, sometimes less satisfied with them, but as a bank goes I honestly feel like they are the status quo.I don't particularly trust any bank because I don't think their priority is the customer, but rather making money, and Bank of America is no different. In the last couple of years I've been really upset with them because of their bounced check fees. I think it's completely unacceptable for a bank to charge their customer for depositing a check that the writer of the check had insufficient funds for. How is that my fault? Am I supposed to know what the check writer's bank balance is before he or she writes me the check? I was charged $25 for that and it made me so mad, I started researching other banks. I've since opened a checking account elsewhere, but my spouse and I have a joint checking account still at B of A. I really wish we'd just quit using them for good.

My experience has been fair overall with this bank., December, 2016

I have had a checking and savings account with Bank of America for over 15 years, and my experience has been fair overall, I have had a few issues with being charged fees that I felt were unfair a few times. But overall they have good ATM coverage and decent customer service if you go inside the branch. The customer service over the phone is a bit of a crap-shoot though. Sometimes I have called in and talked to someone who was able to resolve the issue quickly and other times have talked to someone that sounds like they are from a foreign country and something simple ends up taking a lot longer than it should to resolve. I feel like the interest rate on my savings account is a bit low but its probably the norm for the type of account I have across other banks as well, so can't really complain.

The online banking services are the best I've seen., December, 2016

Currently, I have a checking/savings account with BOA. In the past, I've had credit cards as well. A few years ago I decided to do away with credit cards, but kept the checking. But I decided to compare them with Citizens, which happens to have a branch inside of the grocery store in which I shop, This was most convenient, but it was soon discovered their online capabilities were lacking. Since I hadn't discontinued my BOA, I simply cancelled the Citizens account and returned doing business with BOA. I especially like the Bill Pay aspect of BOA, which is universal, since they actually mail the check to the intended party, and do not require on a mutual online connection, which they do have when available. I also appreciate the alerts I can receive. For example, if there is a debit transaction of more than $100, I am alerted to that fact soon after. I receive a daily alert on balance which is extremely helpful in monitoring any activity, as well as to keep me honest with my own purchases. Finally, because of direct deposits, I pay no fees at all.

Bank of America has been very positive from an overall perspective., December, 2016

Bank of America's customer service has been really good to me over the years. Recently when my credit card statement had purchases on it that I did not do the customer service team went above and beyond to make sure that I was taken care of. They immediately froze the account, removed the fraudulent charges, and then sent me a new credit card with new number. They were extremely helpful and professional at all times and I was impressed with their response. They have also helped me with my credit card interest rate. I simply called them and asked them if I was eligible for a an interest rate reduction. They reviewed my account and said that I was a very good and loyal customer and that they would be happy to lower the rate. That impressed me as well although I will admit I did think at one point why did I even have to ask and not just offer it to me. None the less, they still complied and I was completely satisfied with their action.

Its been great for what i need it for., December, 2016

I really don't have a lot of money, so I really just need a checking and savings account with plenty of locations. Also, their online banking is far superior than any other one I have dealt with. I am able to transfer money to friends / family that bank there also. the checking account fee wasn't a problem when I had direct deposit, but now it is a tad annoying as I never use their infrastructure regularly. Seems as if I am getting a bit of the short end of that fee. The customer service has been good. I had a problem where someone got a hold of my debit card information, and it was handled about as quickly as it could have been considering. I did get all the money back and I really didnt have to jump through hoops to have it taken care of, even though I realised all of this at around 4 in the morning on a Saturday.

Overall it has been convenient and easy to use., December, 2016

I use this bank because of the prevalence of ATM's. ATM's for this bank are all over the country and I can generally find one wherever I am. I haven't had too many bad experiences with the bank, customer service wise. However, I believe that their fees are a little outrageous. If you only have a general account with them, they charge you $5 for a money order. That seems a little ridiculous considering I can go to another bank where I don't have an account and get a money order for less fee. Additionally, they also have fees on their accounts and they have specific requirements that need to be met before you can avoid the fees. I've had to pay hundreds of dollars in fees over the duration I've been with them, but I can't really move my account now as there aren't many other options on a national scale.

    Fantastic customer assistance, December, 2016

I'm very much someone who calls and asks for help as soon as I have any issue understanding something relating to finances. Thus, it's important that my bank be friendly with me and walk me through it in a way that I can understand it. I really think that customer service is one, if not the most, important things a bank can offer to its customer. They have a fantastic website that's clearly been maintained well and are immensely easy to reach at all times. I take pride in knowing that my bank is there for me if I need them. I've compared my bank to other banks and I believe that my bank is one of the best in my area. I live in a relatively small city so we only have a few sparse banks scattered around. I really and truly believe that Bank of America is doing a great job for me and others like me.

My experience with this bank has been good, but not great., December, 2016

I have found that I do not interact too much with the bank in terms of depositing, withdrawing etc. Everything I do is mostly online, and my paychecks are direct deposited. However, I have had to call several times over the course of my years with them for various reasons. I feel that the customer service they provide is great, however the reasons I have to call are absurd. Most of the times they are about fees that I have no idea why they are charged, or fees that I do not believe I should have been charged. Usually they simply reverse the charge to keep me happy. My thoughts about the bank are that they have fees for everything and if you do not meet certain requirements, they are able to charge you fees for almost anything. This is the only aspect of the bank I do not like.

Bank of America has been a great, and I have experienced no problems with them., December, 2016

This was not my first bank. I joined this bank when I entered military service and have not left it since. The service they provided me has always been exceptional. Now that I'm out of the military they still treat me like a valued customer. Every time I go into the bank for to make a cash deposit, or withdrawal, I have been treated with respect and fairness. Most of the time I use the ATM to withdrawal money, but sometimes the line for the ATM is too long, so I go inside to withdrawal the money. There is always someone nice greeting me, and they are willing to help me fill out any forms that need to be completed. I have had money stolen out of my account before, and they were more than helpful in reimbursing the stolen money, and I was provided with exceptional customer service through that frustrating time. I would recommend my friends and family to bank with Bank of America.

It's been very positive and everything from the customer service to online banking is easy to use., December, 2016

When I first opened an account, they checked my credit score automatically in case I was eligible for their credit cards. I wasn't, sadly, but they were very gracious. I was able to get a savings account with a nice "keep the change" feature that automatically drops money in the savings each time I use my debit card. The online banking and mobile banking app are both user friendly and has a nice, clean interface. I can easily use both without difficulty. I am also able to directly cash my checks by using certain ATMs so I don't have to wait in line. They also had nice kiosks available at the bank I went to where I can connect with other employees from across the country in case the tellers are busy.

It's been pretty standard; nothing extraordinary., December, 2016

Well, they process my direct deposit pretty quickly. I have never had to deal with them in person, however because I signed up online. I like the online application process because it was quick and easy and their app is easy to use. I don't really like that they have a fee if you don't deposit at least 2,000 dollars a month since I use the account to put in my side job money. Overall, it's ok but I don't have experience with any associates and I have never been inside the bank, either so I can't make a comment on customer service. But, it's good that I was able to set everything up online. It was very convenient that I did not have to go to BoA in person.

This bank has always been fast and friendly and does what I would expect a bank to do., December, 2016

I had some issues with another bank so I decided to switch my banks. I was told by a friend to check out Bank of America because she always had good experiences with them in the past. I went in and was able to set up my accounts quickly and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a lot of locations so I have been able to find a bank pretty much whenever I needed. I have moved a couple times since starting my accounts with them, but they are always nice and respectful no matter which bank I go to. I have noticed that they try to push credit cards on me when I go in. I haven't wanted a credit card and I feel like I have to talk to them about it every time I go in. I understand that it helps their company out and they are probably required to ask, but it would be nice not to be pressured into things every time I want to go into the bank.

I have not had any major issues so I appreciate that I don't have to think about them interfering too often., December, 2016

When it comes to my banking needs, I want to have a bank that I do not have to think about. I know there are many people who have had issues with Bank of America but, for the most part, they have satisfied my needs with little maintenance. One situation that sticks out was a few months ago when my debit card was illegally used on charges that total $300. I was alerted via the app on my phone and, after just a few verifying questions, I was able to submit for the charges to be stopped and a refund to be issued. This was my first experience with app-based fraud protection and I was extremely pleased. If it was not for the app's quick update and notification, those charges would have slipped by me for quite a few days.

Long term relationship with very few issues., December, 2016

I have been with Bank of America for 13 years. They were the first checking account I ever opened when I turned 18 years old. They were conveniently located in my area and back then online banking did not exist. I will admit when I first started banking with them, the amount of fees and penalties were annoying, but over time things got better, especially since I also grew and learned how to bank responsibly. I still do not like their interest rates, as there are much more enticing options now, but I'm very comfortable with them, so I have no real plans on switching to another company. I have opened multiple checking and savings accounts with them for my children as well as several credit cards which offer decent rewards. The customer service inside the branches as well as via phone support have always been very quick and courteous whenever I need them. Overall, I would say I'm very happy banking with Bank of America.

It's been all right., December, 2016

I started at Bank of America because that's what my family had used previously. The couple of times I've had issues, they got resolved eventually. I can't always do everything I need to online, which is frustrating. I've been able to keep sufficient balance to avoid fees - I would never stay at a bank if I had to pay monthly fees. The interest rate on checking and savings accounts is basically zero, so I have no interest in that. Bank of America did give me my first credit card when I had no credit history. In general, I would like it better if I never had to call or visit in branch about anything, but it's only been a few times over the past 10 years. The one frustrating time was when I had a very low balance, and I checked my balance in an out of country ATM, and withdrew the amount it said I had, but I was hit with a fee because the balance reported did not include a $5 fee for checking my balance.

It has been positive., December, 2016

I joined this bank after a bad experience with another bank where the employees were unfriendly and were not consistent with the information they gave. The signing up process with the new bank was quick and they gave me all the information I needed, as well as telling me how to use the mobile app and get everything set up online. I.mainly joined because as a student I wouldn't have to pay many fees with them. True to their word, I haven't had to pay anything monthly. They have been nothing but polite when I have called or come in.with questions. There have been no surpise overdrafts with them and they are mainly open when I need them and very fast to cash checks. The debit card I applied for arrived fast and it is very easy to set up a savings account, which I plan to do.

It has been very positive., December, 2016

Even though it is a large national bank, I feel the customer service has been excellent. They bought out my old bank and improved everything dramatically. From fees to customer service, I feel that they have done a great job. You cannot beat their phone app which is easy to use and they have ATM's everywhere I travel adding to the convenience. I'm quite happy with them as my bank and love their easy loan process when you need to apply for one. I plan on staying as a customer for the foreseeable future. I feel like they could improve some of their fees by reducing them but with direct deposit you get free checking which is a great thing to have. I hope they continue to be a good bank.

My experience with this bank has been very positive., December, 2016

I have had an account with Bank of America for a few years. I originally opened an online banking account so I could pay bills and transfer money using their web platform. After a few years, I decided I wanted to move all of my banking activities to Bank of America. They had no fees for me to use their service. Their location was convenient and easy to access and I thought it would be a good idea to switch to Bank of America as my primary bank. I am glad I did so.

In my time with Bank of America I have very positive things to say about this bank. Every time I have visited the branch location the employees have been very helpful. The customer service is excellent. I am very pleased with the lack of fees and don't have to worry about hidden fees with this bank. My only gripe is that the interest rate on my savings account is very low. Other than that I am extremely pleased with Bank of America and look forward to continuing my service indefinitely.

Never had any reason to complain, December, 2016

Signed up because I needed a checking account. Sent all my papers and debit card right to my address and let me activate the account over the phone. The one bad thing is that there are no Bank of America ATM's in the town I live in. I didn't check that before I signed up. So whenever I need cash, I have to pay a fee by using some other banks ATM. It's mildly inconvienent but not that bad. The overdraft charge is 35 dollars which is 5 dollars more than I am used to, but I try to never let my account be drafted over. Overall I've never really had any problems with this particular bank. And have even recommended it to a few members of my family and friends.

Bank of America has been a very good bank for me for over 9 years, providing good customer service., December, 2016

I have been a customer with Bank of America in Colonial Heights, VA since 2007. I have had very few negative experiences with this bank. The worst of which was probably an ATM closure when I wasn't expecting it (though this has happened to me only once or twice in nine years). The bank has been very forgiving when it comes to overdraft fees. Not all of my overdraft fees have been refunded, but in one bad month for me, they refunded four $35 overdraft fees. Overdraft refunds have happened more than just that one time also.

The bank has been quite gracious in offering to notarize documents for me as well. I have had probably 8 to 10 documents notarized there without trouble (and for free). I always receive good customer service at Bank of America.

They have fast digital service and they have lots of convenient ATMs across the country, December, 2016

I opened an account there to make it convenient for me to access money while I was in college, in a different state than I am from. I like that I can always access it online securely and could easily transfer from one account to another. I did not like that someone can't deposit money for you; for example my parents had to mail me a check rather than be able to deposit in my name like they can do in our hometown bank. The fees are ridiculous if you are not making enough money, which is hard to do when you are in graduate school but the student benefits don't apply. Overall I thought the convenience of it, especially because I do travel a lot, was more beneficial than the drawbacks. I will probably close my account when I start making more money.

My experience with B of A has been a bit disappointing, but it could be worse., January, 2017

I have both a checking and savings account with Bank of America. It was extremely easy to set up my checking account with them, and my savings account was even easier to set up. Their mobile app is functional and makes it easy to check my balances while on the go. There was one instance when I overdrew my account by about $.50 and they charged me a $35 overdraft fee, which I was very unhappy about. It doesn't make sense that they would run the charge and then charge me an overdraft instead of just declining the original charge. It seems like the company is just out to wring money from me in any way possible. In addition, I am not happy with the fact that they charge a monthly fee to my savings account. There are lots of banks that do not do this. Again, it feels like B of A is just trying to take my money whenever possible. I wish I would have done more research before opening at least my savings account and chosen one of the many better options available.

Its been a hassle and nothing but problems for me personally., January, 2017

I got Bank Of America for the close ATMs near me and my family told me they were good but they never told me I would be nickle and dimed at each corner. I had a situation where I went the ATM to take out cash, I asked to take out $200, it only gave me $160 but took $200 out of my account. It was after banking hours so I went back the next day and they told me that they could not verify what I said and if anything comes of it, like a problem, I personally would be responsible for the fees. Horrible bank and horrible customer service and I will be switching as soon as I get the chance to get everything together and goto a new bank.

I haven't had any major problems with my bank., January, 2017

I don't that many needs -- I just need a place for checking and savings, really. I also like that there are ATMs everywhere I go, both locally in my town and when I'm traveling in other states, and that I can get 95% of what I need to get done at the ATM. What I do not like, though, is that for the other 5% of the time when I need to actually talk to someone, they charge a fee for each teller visit -- I've had tellers try to charge me even when I needed them to do something that I could not accomplish at the ATM, which I found ridiculous. If I ever get to a point where I need more from my banking service, I would consider a change. When I do use their in-person customer service, I've found it to be very helpful though a little pushy regarding signing up for credit cards.

Positive because of the high interest rates, January, 2017

I mostly use online banking, so this bank is good for me. It has high interest rates so I feel my money is working for me. The website and mobile app are easy to use for the most part and I can do most things I want. I can also use a lot of ATMs without fees when I need to have cash on me. I did not get a home loan through this bank, however, because I found better interest rates elsewhere. It probably would not have been a big difference, but I felt that such a big purchase needed the best deal. Some of my family also uses this bank and have had similar experiences to me with the website and interest rates. Overall I think this bank is good for me.

I suppose I would say it's just ok., December, 2016

For starters, after being a loyal bank customer for about 10 years, they denied me a credit card the first time I applied. This upset me because the reason they gave me is that I didn't have enough credit history. So, I was upset. It was fine for them to take my money, but they didn't want to give me credit? The next problem I had was their overdraft fees. It only happened once and they fixed it, but, I ordered something online and didn't have enough funds. I thought I did and I didn't. Instead of not letting the transaction process, they did. They then charged me two seperate overdraft fees because of it and when I called, they said it was my fault for buying something when I didn't have the funds! A manager took care of it and apologized for the rude rep.

My overall experience with Bank of america has been great with almost no issues over the past 20 years., January, 2017

Bank of America has been my bank for over 20 years. I have used many different services with them such as: Checking, Savings, Investment/Brokerage, Auto Loans, Recreational Loan (ie Boat/RV), Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) and have not really run into issues with them. The customer service, if needed, is exceptional with resolving issues as long as they are legitimate issues and not necessarily "user error". I am a financially responsible person, so I tend to not have "issues" like some other people may have which causes Bank of America to get a black-eye more than other banks. The rates are always reasonable and the loan process is not too overwhelming as I have been through various types over the years. I will continue to do business with Bank of America unless they cause a large financial impact with me. I would highly recommend them to anyone unless you aren't a responsible person.

Except for a few high overdraft fees a while back, I have generally had a good experience with the bank, January, 2017

A while back when i was really struggling financially, i had issues with the high fees i would be charged ($35.00) every time I had an overdraft. I think this is excessive. In addition, there was some serious confusion in the way that BOA posted the order of transactions and the 'pending' transactions category in their online account access. They ended up being called out on it in a class action lawsuit later. I remember it being confusing and it seemed deliberately so. It seems this was a way for them to confuse people into over drafting their account, whereupon they could collect large overdraft fees. I think i got a check for the equivalent of ONE overdraft fee for being a part of that lawsuit, though i had incurred many. Other than that, I have had no issues with the bank, but because they are a large corporate bank who has done shady things like what i mentioned above, i have considered moving to a local credit union. But the BOA bank is close by and I've never gotten around to changing banks because it's s a bit of a hassle.

Solid; I have never had any issues but that is probably because I manage my finances very well., January, 2017

I have not had any issues with this bank. On the few occasions I have gone into a branch, mainly for notary services, I have been treated respectfully and professionally. I manage my money closely so I have not ever had an issue with overlimit or late fees, and I pay my credit card in full so I don't really care about the interest rate. Right now interest rates on deposits accounts are terrible everywhere so I don't hold that against them. My favorite thing about Bank of America is by far, though, their online banking. I love how easy it is to use. I always make deposits through the mobile application and I pay all my bills using bill pay. I have many set up as recurring payments. I have never had something go to the wrong place or not be paid on time. I first came to be a customer because it was the bank closest to my dorm in college - it wasn't even Bank of America then, it became that through mergers. I have had the bank name change at least three times since I've been a customer but it's never caused me a problem. And finally, I love that just about anywhere I go there is a Bank of America ATM so I never have to pay fees to get my money out.

There are some things that I do not like about the bank, but overall my experience with them is positive., January, 2017

I opened an account with Bank of America in 2009. I was staying with my parents at the time (an extended visit), needed to open an account immediately. and BOA was the only nearby bank that also had a branch in the town I lived. Looking back on it now I realize the bank "sold" me on opening a checking account I didn't need (they talked me into opening two checking accounts that day), but they were free of any service charges so it wasn't really a big deal. Years later I received an email stating I would begin to be charged a 15 dollar monthly service charge for each checking account unless I maintained certain requirements, which I didn't think I would be able to. I went to the bank to close all my accounts. When I got there I spoke with a manager that explained I would be able to maintain one of the requirements that would exclude me from being charged the monthly fee on one of my checking accounts, so I ended up keeping one open and closing the other checking account that I had there. I had only been using one of them anyway. I was happy with this arrangement because I am usually a loyal customer to a brand if I am satisfied with them. One thing I wanted to be sure and say about BOA is that the reason I like the bank so much is because their online banking website and mobile app are so convenient and are of high quality.

Any time I have had an issue, it has been resolved quickly and usually to my satisfaction., January, 2017

I have been a customer for around 15 years with this bank but have used multiple other banks for other accounts during this period. I have since closed those accounts but have kept this account. I rarely encounter any problems but if I have had any problems, they were resolved quickly and usually to my satisfaction. The fees are generally similar to that of other banks. The website and mobile app are suitable for my needs. One significant problem with this bank is the lack of branches in my state but I haven't encountered a situation where I actually need to visit a branch as I can do everything via the mobile app, the website, or the telephone, but it could be a problem if you regularly needed to deposit cash.

It has been very satisfying, January, 2017

I have been banking with this organization for 10 years and I have been very satisfied with my experience thus far. I have a checking account and a certificate of deposit. I have been very satisfied with the customer service provided with my bank and the fees charged by the bank. The location is ideal and the bank has locations everywhere I have needed access to my account. National service has never been an issue and I have never had issues in the various states in which I have needed service. I have never had interruption of service or any hold ups in accessing my funds or services. The bank is very modern and competitive and offers many functions that I would describe as bleeding edge and very useful to me.
