    My overall experience has been adequate because the bank provides the basics that I need., November, 2016

    Although my overall experience at this bank has been adequate, it could be better. I like the basics that the bank provides such as a checking and savings account and credit hard however the bank could really improve on its customer service. Customer service over the phone is a pain because the wait times are horrendous. When somebody finally does answer the phone, they are generally extremely unenthusiastic. I even had a representative be rude to me by interrupting and talking over the top of me and at one point calling me a liar when I told her to stop interrupting me. The online customer service is much better because I can multi-task while waiting for a response. The online representatives are generally more competent and enthusiastic. I think perhaps because after each online customer service session, customers are given a very quick survey to complete about the experience. With phone customer service, customers have to opt in to receive a phone survey asking about their experience. Most customers do not opt in because it is an inconvenience. Since phone customer service representatives are less likely as online representatives to get rated, they perhaps aren't motivated to provide awesome customer service. There was also a time when Bank of America was repeatedly charging me fees that I had no idea about. When I finally realized, I had racked up quite a bit in fees. I asked for the fees to be reversed but was denied by 2 people until I refused to get off the phone until somebody reverse the fees that I felt to be quite unfair. Despite this, I would recommend this bank to friends because it is probably better than other banks. Chase Bank got hacked and my friend had his identity stolen multiple times. Wells Fargo was involved in a fraud scheme recently. I haven't heard anything negative about Bank of America as of yet so I assume it must be the best one around.

    I like the convenience and customer service of this bank., September, 2016

    I originally got this account because my parents had an account with them. I never really had a problem with them during the ten years I was with them. Every time there was an accidental over draft, they would waive it. They seem to care that I am a long time customer. They don't really seem to push new offers on me too often and I haven't really be annoyed in that way. I really like how there are a lot of Bank of America atms and branches around. I don't like their rates, but I don't plan on having them for my most used credit cards or savings account anyways. They are just convenient and reliable. Customer service is responsive. And I feel protection from fraud. I will probably stick with BOA for a long time.
