It has been largely positive., September, 2016

I first found out about this bank from my parents. They had been going from bank to bank for the longest time. They signed me up along so I can rank my credit score higher. I also, during this time, spent the time getting a line of credit to further up my credit score. Unfortunately, I went by the wayside in my college years being reckless with my spending so my line of credit was eventually suspended. However, that was no fault of the bank's because they kept my line of credit open for a long time and were very understanding and lenient with the NSF fees. Now that I've gotten my act straightened out, I think now I get to see the true potential of this banking relationship. The staff has always been friendly and supportive and I've never been nervous or anxious about visiting one of their chain banks.

They have never let me down., September, 2016

I have been very impressed with the customer service at BECU. They have a location about 5 minutes walking distance from my house and there has never been any kind of line when I have had to go into a branch to ask for assistance. I have always walked in and immediately been greeted and attended to. Nothing like my experience with Bank of America before I switched. I have traveled abroad in the past and they have always been excellent about making sure my card will work in foreign countries while also making sure my accounts are secure. They have also been able to print me off new debit cards on the spot when they have had some type of security threat or when I just wanted to get a new card. All in all I have never had a frustrating experience with this bank.

It has been a wonderful, easygoing experience to be with BECU., October, 2016

I had been with many banks before moving to Seattle, all of whom I really disliked. I was always hit with ridiculous fees and always seemed to be on the phone with them over some misunderstanding with them. When I first moved to Seattle (roughly 4 years ago), BECU was recommended to me. I decided to give them a try. I am so glad I did. I have never had any fee from them that couldn't be explained. I have only ever talked with customer service a handful of times, but when I did, they were always very pleasant and informative. I have had to replace my debit card a few times and there was never a fee for that or any hassle. I would just go in and they would get me a new card right away. I always received a personal loan from them for my wedding. It was straightforward and I haven't had any issues with repayment or exhorbent interest rates. I have had such a wonderful experience banking with them that I can't imagine ever banking any where else.

It has been great., October, 2016

I initially went to this bank in 2009 because of the financial crisis at the time. I was kind of done with all the bullshit of the big banks and wanted something smaller without all the fees and nonsense. I saw an offer for 25 dollars for me to sign up and another 25 for my friend who had recommended me. Also the interest rates were 6 percent for the first 1000 dollars in the account and still is like 4 percent. Which means I make more interest off of a 1000 dollars than probably with all my other accounts combined. They are friendly and I know I won't be having to bail them out like WAMU and all the other bullshit big banks. I will probably stay with them and other small banks like this forever.

BECU is the only bank/credit union I'd like to subscribe to, it's my favorite and has no downsides I can see, November, 2016

My experience with BECU has been nothing but positive. I signed up for them about 4 years ago, after having Bank of America, and I've never looked back. I got rid of my Bank of America account when they started charging ridiculous fees for my checking/savings account after I was no longer a student. BECU, rather than a bank, feels like a family business. They don't charge any membership fees, and have always been extremely forgiving in terms of missed payments on credit or overdrawing your account. What's more, they've since installed numerous ATMs in the Seattle region, which has helped me tremendously.

One of my favorite things about BECU, which I'd assume most banks can do now, is they print debit cards in their office, rather than having to mail one to you within 5-7 business days. This makes losing a card or changing it for security reasons extremely convenient. What's more, they have an appealing design scheme to their brand and utilities, a trustworthy reputation, and a friendly, down to earth staff. You can tell everybody who works there enjoys their job, and it carries none of the institutional weight of a large bank.

The best bank we have ever used, December, 2016

we have banked with several banks in our area over the last couple of decades. We had good experiences overall, a few bad. Then my wife qualified to bank at a local credit union. We've been with them for a long time and have been completely satisfied with them. They don't have cash to work with like regular tellers, but they do have cutting edge cash machines which are better than any other cash machine we have ever experienced. The tellers are consistently friendly. The only problem we have had is when we travel and have had to make a deposit. We have found other credit unions that have agreements to allow us to still have many of the same benefits but the hours and especially the cash machines are dismal in comparison. Overall we've been ecstatic about our bank and absolutely love BECU.

BECU has been a hassle free banking experience., December, 2016

Boeing Employee Credit Union is a local non profit credit union based in Western Washington. I changed to this bank approximately 5 years ago when Bank of America was threatening to raise fees on ATM transactions. They're a local bank that offers a nice interest rate on both my checking and savings account. I rarely need to contact them but when I do they assist me quickly and help me with my needs. Just recently they printed a replacement ATM card for me at one of their satellite branches. I can do 99% of my transactions through their online banking application. I would recommend this credit union to anyone looking to make a change. They also allow unlimited transfers from my checking account to my savings account so it easy to save money. The one drawback would some of the small international fees they charge on each international (Canada) transaction.
