My experience has been very positive overall and I can always count on Discover's customer service to be quick and available., September, 2016

Discover is overall a great bank and I would recommend it to anyone needing a new financial institution. While they have no physical locations, they work with ATM providers and I have never had to pay a fee at an in-network ATM, of which there are always plenty around. Discover's customer service is second to none. They have representatives available 24/7 and I never have to wade through a complex system of phone prompts to speak to the right representative. Discover makes it easy for me to take care of all of my online bill pay needs. Their website and app together make sure that I am never far away from being able to check on my accounts as needed. The greatest part about having a Discover checking account is the cash back. For each check that is cleared or debit purchase that is made, you get back 10 cents, which is directed into an account. There's no minimum to withdraw or combine your checking cash back with cash back from your Discover credit card. Paying me to pay my bills? Yes, please!

It has been good for an online only bank experience, November, 2016

I chose Discover because I wanted a better interest rate on my savings account. At the time that I was looking, it had one of the higher rates for online accounts. Online only served me at that time because it was a supplemental account to my main checking with a local bank. I found the application very simple as all I had to do was fill in an online form with my information and wait for approval. Recently I closed out one of my CD accounts after it reached maturation. It was a bit annoying that I couldn't close it through the account settings on the website. Instead, I had to call the customer service and tell them that I wanted to close it. The representative was helpful and efficient though and closed the account with minimal fuss.

Discover bank is fine. It's convenient to be able to access free atms nationwide (within their specified networks)., November, 2016

One thing I don't like about the bank, however, is it takes a little bit longer than normal (in my experience with other banks) to post things like deposits of checks and transfers into the bank. They will soft-post some of the funds but the actual money doesn't become available until much much later, usually up to 5 to 7 business days, which can cause problems when you are using this as your only banking institution. I do like the convenience of the mobile deposit, however, I think that that is becoming more common and that wouldn't be a reason to stay with Discover solely on that aspect. I do like that they give me 10 cent cash back promo on every single transaction - those can add up quickly and be redeemed as cash or as credits toward online gift cards, like Amazon, etc.

The bank has completely satisfied me by supplying a higher rate savings account than I can get with my local banks., December, 2016

I wanted a savings account to save my property tax money in, that would earn some interest, but be accessible. The local banks are only paying about 0.05% on their savings account, so I looked online for a better rate. I found that the Discover bank had a very decent rate, about 1.1% at the time and I applied on line for the account. Everything was done electronically and my first deposit and every transaction since then has gone seamlessly. The rate has changed, but still is the highest that I have found. I have never had a problem with this bank, and all my transactions happen within 24 hours of request. For a small savings to put my property tax money, it works perfectly and I would recommend them to anyone for this product.

My experience with this bank has been outstanding, April, 2017

My idea with choosing this bank was one that I could be completely online. This bank offers great service and I can take it anywhere with me. I get checks completely free, I am able to set up payments to outside payees and I can use just about any ATM with either no fee or very low fee.

I also have a checking account through them which offers a very high competitive interest rate. More over, I am able to check and keep track of my expenses and budget effectively through this bank. Being able to have a lot of convenience and no hassle is a great selling point for me. I love being able to not have to worry about spending more on fees and the customer service is always there to back me up if needed.
