    Very good, September, 2016

Overall, my experience has been very good. I initially selected them because they are located in the town where I was going to school. So the location was very convenient. After I finished school and moved out of state, it became less convenient. However, I have continued to use them because of convenience and habit. I have online banking set up with them and don;t want to change it until I have a good reason to (like getting a new job or moving again). So I am happy with continuing to use them for the time being. If I do get a new job or move and find that another bank is more convenient, I will change accounts then and possibly close my current account. But I don;t feel the need to do so yet. I think that's all I can think of to say about my banking experience.

Overall, my experience with this bank has been about average., October, 2016

This bank has been very good at times and then not so good at other times. I really like their online banking. They also have a mobile app which is very convenient. However, it can be quite a pain if you mistype your password and lock yourself out. Although, I guess that means they have some pretty good security. I also wasn't happy when out of the blue, I found out that they took my overdraft protection off. I for sure know that I did not turn it off myself. Whenever I've called in, I have gotten pretty good customer service. Also, when I've visited a branch, its been quick and easy. I like how I can just give them a check and swipe my debit card. No more dealing with deposit slips. The locations of their ATMs is pretty decent. There are quite a few and one is usually fairly close no matter where you are.

It has been all smooth except for one occasion where the same bill got paid for times in 5 minutes for the same amount. They removed the 3 extra charges but I shouldn't have had to be that pushy for something that obvious,, October, 2016

They have been a good bank all in all. They are always friendly and easy to deal with with one minor exception.

They are a bit behind in technology: I still don't have a chip card but I know others who bank there that do. It seems that roll out is going very slowly. Also their ATM required you to put cash in an envelope to deposit so it would handle cash like a check: only give you access to $100 until the next day. Recently they finally installed bill counters into their ATMs so now you have immediate access to cash. So all good now but as I said slow to adopt technologies and that isn't even a new one. They have never charged me a penny in fees so that beats anyone I have ever banked with.

    Horribly punishing fees, December, 2016

It's very easy for your account to go hundreds of dollars into the negative after a few small (five dollars or so) overdrafts. The mobile app is often times inaccurate regarding the state of the account/transactions. Customer service has no interest in any sort of forgiveness and will not take responsibility for the bank's misinformation. Not knowing when your balance is available or when the bank will allow a transaction to overdraft makes it difficult to make informed decisions. Aside from this, the website isn't bad on desktop. The ATMs seem to work well. And the bonuses for opening the account were pretty good. Also, there are fees that occur that customer service is either unable or reluctant to explain. All in all, I should probably change banks sooner than later.

Overall my experience with Key Bank has been mostly positive., December, 2016

This bank has been 4 different banks since I became a customer 13 years ago. It has become Key Bank in the last 2 months. So far we are happy with the change. They have kept many of the same policies. We have a preferred account so we get reimbursed for ATM fees, or low balance fees. We get free checks. They are conveniently located in our town. Since changing over, the new online banking site is much easier to use than the old one. They have convenient hours with longer hours for the drive through. One negative is that they do not offer the best loan rates. We have been considering consolidating loans so we may end up changing banks to get a lower rate. We will see what they can do for us though before changing.

So far it has been good, no complaints., December, 2016

I was previously with First Niagara Bank but they got bought out and I was then switched over to Keybank. So far my experience with them has been very good. At the beginning of the swap over it was confusing, my online banking was not working and it took forever to set up my account. I was thinking about switching until I received an email and a letter stating their sincere apologies for the confusion and to make it up to us we will get a $100 credit to our account. That of course made me happy and made me think more highly of them. Since then I have had no issues with my mobile banking application on my phone and I would have to say I am overall satisfied with Keybank.

It's been a very pleasant experience., January, 2017

When I turned 17 I opened a checking account with Key. The employees were always very friendly and warm in there. When the time came to buy a house, they were my first choice for a mortgage. Unfortunately, I was denied. I was young and didn't make a lot of money at the time. I got a mortgage with a different bank, but the interest rate was very high. Years went by, I got married and had a daughter. My house needed some repairs and I neede a loan. I met with Kelly Brown at the North Syracuse branch about a home equity loan, and was easily approved. She also asked about refinancing that mortgage, which I was dying to do, and this time I was approved. I now have a savings account, a checking account, and the two loans with Key Bank. Their customer service is excellent, and when my brother in law bought a car I recommended Key for the loan.

I have had a great experience with this bank., January, 2017

I was dissatisfied with my prior bank, and past financial problems had made it a little challenging for me to get a bank account at any bank. The representative at Key was very understanding and assured that I would be able to get an account with them regardless, even if it meant having certain limitations. However, it turns out Key uses a different screening service, and I was able to get a checking account without any issues. They have great benefits, like refunding me any charges incurred from using a non-Key Bank ATM (although it is only for the first four uses each month). My only complaint about this bank would be the availability of mobile deposits. I can make a mobile deposit before 11 PM ET, but my funds aren't available until 9 AM PT the next day. I wish they would make at least part of it (like the first $100) available immediately.

Overall, Key Bank is a good bank for people my age., January, 2017

My mother suggested I open an account with Key Bank when I got my first job. Just about everyone in my family had an account with Key Bank. They had a special type of checking account for me, where I had fewer fees. I was great for people my age. I have only ever had one problem with this bank, and it was resolved fairly quickly. Their online banking is very convenient and they even have an app, where I can access my bank statements on the go or on my laptop/computer. Also, because I am a college student, convenience is important to me. Key Bank offers several kiosks on my campus, where I can withdraw money from my account quickly. They employees at Key Bank have always been helpful to me.

Key Bank has a few convenient locations, but they enjoy charging fees., January, 2017

I originally opened an account at Key Bank because they have locations both in my hometown, as well as the town where I was attending university. The college check account was very nice. They didn't charge activity fees and they reimbursed $10 in ATM fees per month. However, clients can only use the college checking account for a limited amount of time. Afterwards, they move you to their every day checking account products. These products can be defined by their fees, which has been very disappointing.

When I visit the bank, the employees are always very friendly. Employees work quickly and effectively, which means even long lines don't last that long.

I've found the Key Bank mobile application to be very useful as well. The mobile app gives users the ability to deposit checks, transfer balances, and everything else people would expect it to be able to do. The mobile app has made my life easier. At the end of the day, though, I just wish there weren't as many nickle- and-dime-types of fees.
