    They've offered friendly, quality service., November, 2016

    M&T has been a great bank. Every M&T Bank employee I've encountered has been courteous, friendly, and professional.

    As someone who grew up in Upstate New York, I also like that they are based in Buffalo, NY and presumably create lots of jobs there.

    They've been helpful when I've had fraudulent charges in getting them contested and removed. They've helped when my wallet was stolen. They offer to pay ATM fees that other banks charge, which I greatly appreciate. They used to have a branch one block from my office. When I changed job, my distance to the nearest M&T Bank branch increased, which is kind of annoying.

    The only criticism I would have is that their smartphone app is sometimes glitchy, or inaccessible. They also don't allow mobile check deposits like some other banks apparently do. That would be a nice feature to have.

    I have had a generally good experience with this bank over the last 6 years., December, 2016

    I use M and T for my daily banking purposes. I pay all of my bills and do most of my spending from my checking account. I have been with M and T for the last 6 years and generally, I feel pleased with the service I have received. I have a couple of things about them that I would change. Their fraud alert process is a little ridiculous, I have basically developed a fear of using my debit card because it will randomly get locked for "fraud", when I was making a typical purchase in my home town. For example, I was told my card was tagged as fraudulent and locked because I was spending too much, too late at night...I was at the grocery store at 9 pm on a Friday. No notice, no text, no email, just locked. Very embarrassing to have this happen to you several times over the years. I also wish they offered mobile bank deposits for regular customers, it is currently only available for businesses.

    Pretty good no real problems., January, 2017

    If I've ever needed anything customer service was always available, the bank tellers are nice, I wish there were more atm machines around town but the machines aren't to far from where i live and shop. They're always sending me information about changes. They were good about protecting my account when i had my wallet stolen. I've had no unwanted or hidden fees pop up. which is why i left my last bank. My account is easy to view and understand. Overall I don't have much to complain about I've been a customer with them for a few years now. Their closets branch to me shut down, that was an inconvenience but the next closest is in my favorite part of town so it's not too much of an issue.
