Its been great and I've always loved the customer service., October, 2016

I first joined this bank as a teenager. I had gained some credit card debt from a bogus card I had received in the mail. My mom took me to my bank where they gave me a financial counseling, opened a checking account with a debit card, and gave me a new credit card that they transferred all the debt over to. Ever since then, they have been my primary bank. I've done auto loans through them and all paychecks direct deposited to them. My only concern with this bank is that it has slightly higher interest rates then my husbands military affiliated bank. But for me, the customer service of my bank more than makes up for it. They are open 24/7 and when I call the number, I get an actual live person right away and no automated answering service.

My experience has been exellent with this bank for many reasons., December, 2016

The bank does not charge fees to have an account and does not have a minimum balance requirement. The bank is often willing to reverse any fees that may incur due to overdrawing or being late on payments. The bank has many ATMs in my area and service centers for credit unions outside of the area. I can make a deposit on my phone or at an ATM and my funds are available immediately. The bank has many different types of loans available including car loans, home loans, credit cards, and even payday advance loans that all have relatively low interest rates. If you ever need to speak with someone about an issue that comes up, customer service is extremely friendly and efficient both on the phone as well as in person. The debit card for the bank also features the mascot for the school (Michigan State University), which personalizes the card more than other banks typically do.

My overall experience with this bank has been a positive experience for my basic needs., December, 2016

I joined Michigan State University Federal Credit Union in 2010 when I started college because they offered free accounts for Michigan State University students and I needed a place to deposit my financial aid checks. I have never had to take a loan out from this bank but if I did I'm sure I would be walked through the process in any location. I love the mobile app and the ease of using it and transferring money between accounts. It is also very easy to send and receive money from other bank accounts. They also have an online chat feature which is great because it's easier than talking on the phone. I have traveled a few times and every time it was very easy to verify that I was on the one making purchases with my debit card in other states. It was also very simple to set up Apple Pay.
