I have had a great experience with this credit union, they have made me a customer for life., September, 2016

The thing I like most about Navy Federal Credit union is that they have the most competitive interest rates around. I currently have a Certificate of Deposit earning 3 percent. In today's ultra low interest rate environment, that rate cannot be found anywhere else. They also have a large variety of different financial products available so that you're not just locked into a super high term CD at a bad rate. They have different checking account types available to suit my needs. They even will refund ATM fees up to a certain amount every month. Those little fees certainly add up over time so I am glad to have this feature available to me. I am currently looking for a house. I know that when I apply for a mortgage, Navy Federal Credit Union will be my first choice.

    Fees are lower, September, 2016

I join Navy Federal Credit Union when I was in the marines and I had this bank every since then. And they have always been so good to me and treated me like a value customer. And the rates and fee are like super low. Well lower then any other bank I came around. I dont know may be it because I was marine. And people are just showing respect. But either I know one thing is that this bank has been there for me even in hard times when they know I didnt have to money to pay them they just hold one for awhile. Like once I was 6 months behind and they said its all good and just let it go with no extra fees. Best bank ever

    Efficient, September, 2016

I've been with this bank since boot camp back in 2004. While they have no local branches here, I've been able to all of my banking over the phone and now on the mobile app. The interest rates are better than the national average and they have some pretty great promotional CDs. It's a sturdy bank that treats it's customers well. Any time I've had an issue with my account, which is not at all frequently, I've been able to get through to a real person on the phone. They'e always professional and quick, able to get my problem resolved before I can hang up the phone. I wish the credit card department was more lenient but I don't think there is one lenient or understanding creditor in the whole unietd states!

overall experience with this bank has been excellent, September, 2016

My overall experience with this credit union has been excellent. They have helped me many times with loans: 2 car loans, a few personal loans, a credit card. They have excellent customer service. Low interest fees. Low other fees. I will probably be with them for the rest of my life, and ask them for a home loan with the VA Home loan guarantee offered by being a veteran. What more can I say?

Excellent and very dependable, September, 2016

It was about 15 years ago i was looking for a new car and was in the market for a new bank as well. I did not even heard or knew what Navy credit union is or was. I went to the dealer and asked them to give me the best rates . They said they can apply at navy credit union for me as they had the best rates at that time. Low and behold i was approved with a 2% interest rate. I was so happy and ecstatic that i opened a checking and savings account with them as well. My experience with them over the years has been nothing short of amazing. They always give me the best rates on their credit cards and loans. And their amazing website makes banking and paying my bills a breeze. If i had to choose a bank i would choose them all over again.

My overall experience at Navy Federal is excellent., September, 2016

My husband joined the military is 2008 and a handful of his friends recommended we join Navy Federal. Many people in the military my husbands rank and above bank with Navy Federal and also had great things to say. Being military we were able to access direct deposit two days early and even when the government shutdown we were able to access our pay and when it actually posted when the government reopened they got the money back. I have absolutely no complaints. Being a member we have been able to access lower interest rates and cash in our change free. You have to be in the military or referred by a member to bank here and we have opened accounts for all our children as well so that they may be members of Navy Federal as adults if they choose. I love credit unions and they are a credit union.

This bank is friendly and willing to work with anyone., October, 2016

I have been a member of the Navy Federal Credit Union for the past 10 years. During that time I have never had any issues with the bank. I joined as anew naval recruit and they guided and worked with me in terms of setting financial goals. They have always been available and helpful regarding any questions or concerns I have. The interest rates are always comparable or lower compared to other banks as well. My only qualm with the Navy Federal Credit Union is that it has been slower than other banks to adapt to new technology like mobile banking. Regardless of these problems, Navy Federal Credit Union has been loyal, honest, and helpful to me so I will be loyal to them for many many years to come.

They are a great place to bank!, October, 2016

We first started with Navy Federal about 8 years ago. We had just moved to the area and very much preferred a credit union as opposed to a traditional bank. We walked in, was immediately seen by someone, and within 45 minutes we had new savings and checking accounts. We also inquired about and eventually applied for a home loan a few years later. Throughout the process they were extremely helpful and always answered all of our questions. We are the kind of people that really like to know what we are getting and they didn't have a problem walking us though the process. We are very grateful for Navy Federal. Even now that we moved away, we continue to bank with them through their mobile phone App. Great bank, great service, and great people.

They have been dependable and honest and do their best for their customers, October, 2016

I have never had any issue with Navy Federal Credit Union. They have excellent customer service and have upgraded their online platform since I've been with them so almost everything you need is already online -- no need to spend 30 minutes on the phone with a representative. Not that I've ever spent 30 minutes on the phone waiting for anyone to answer my call. They have always been very helpful and courteous. I've never been faced with hidden fees for any reason, they cover my ATM fees, and I've never had an issue with over drafting my account because they have automatic protection. Their checking and savings accounts are free and while their rates aren't incredible, they do have occasional deals that make investing with them worthwhile. I'm hoping to get a mortgage from them in the near future.

Overall, I have had a generally positive experience with this bank with minimal issues., October, 2016

For the most part, my experience with this credit union has been very positive. While this is the case, here have been some things that hold me back from giving Navy Federal a perfect score. For one, I am not a huge fan of the monthly transfer limit from your savings account. I think it would be a lot more useful if that was either raised or removed. I have also had a few occasions where I have been charged 30 dollars for a returned check fee, which I personally believe is a little much. It would be better if they simply gave you an insufficient funds method, instead of charging 30 dollars that I already do not have. With these things in mind, the services and rates that they offer are ultimately what keeps me with this bank.

    Excellent customer service!, October, 2016

I've had nothing but positive experiences with this bank. They have competitive rates, benefits for military personnel, and excellent customer service. When we had issues with someone stealing our card information, the fraud department caught it before we did and took care of it for us. For my credit card, they offered better rates than any other major banks, and the same goes for their auto loans. They frequently have referral programs where you can refer your friends and you each get $50 put into your bank account. I have been able to take advantage of this a few times, myself. I can't speak more highly of this bank. If you are eligible to become a member, do not hesitate to do so. They are definitely worth it, in my opinion.

This bank is vert effecient, October, 2016

Navy Federal Credit Union is a very great place to bank. I have never had a bad experience at the bank. I have taken out several loans and also have a credit card with them. What I love about this credit union is that if you lose your debit card you can simply come to a branch and they will provide you with a new card on the spot. They were one of the first credit unions to offer this service. I also love the perks that I get when I use my visa card. I have never had a bad experience with any of the tellers or front desk staff when I have gone into the bank. The only thing that I don't like is there is a six time minimum on transfering money between your accounts.

My experience has been very positive from when I signed up during boot camp to present day middle aged me., November, 2016

This was the first bank I ever joined during boot camp at 18 years of age. Nobody told me that I was gonna start off with the best bank in existence. My experiences have only been positive. From the time I lost my wallet with my debit card and credit cards to the loan on my first car they always treat me first class. I really appreciate the little things they do as well. They give me free checks and calendars as well as no fee atm machines at my local grocery store. My only complaint has been the interest rates lately. Can't fault them for this when I look at other banks rates right now. They're in all 50 states too. I like that I can find a branch when I go on vacation. Joing NFCU was one of the only smart decisions I made back in my teenage years.

My experience with this bank has been nothing short of praise., November, 2016

I have been a member of Navy Federal Credit Union for over a decade. My time with them has been nothing short of wonderful. I first signed up with them after i completed boot camp for the Marine Corps in 2002. They had sa special promotion where if I signed up, I could apply for an $800 dollar loan. Ever since then they have been my primary bank. They have helped me secure a car loan and various other personal loans throughout the fourteen years I have been with them. I am now in the process of purchasing a house and am looking into getting a mortgage loan to purchase my first home. They have always looked out for my best interest, even when I fell on tough times and could not pay my car loan. They agreed to freeze my loan payments for two months until I got back on my feet. I would definitely recommend Navy Federal to anyone looking for a great bank with wonderful customer service.

Convenient banking and great online features., December, 2016

This bank was recommended to me by a family member after I had been unhappy with my current bank. The application process for opening a checking account, savings account, and credit card was all easily done online. Their mobile app makes it extremely convenient to deposit checks using my phone's camera so I rarely have to drive out to a branch.

The credit card I was offered came with a great low interest rate for my credit level. Getting cash advances is as easy as going online and transferring it from the credit card to my checking account. Occasionally I notice my credit limit has been rising without me even needing to request it.

Whenever I do have to go into a branch, I'm always greeted quickly and the tellers are friendly. Every transaction has been smooth. I also like that they offer the new security of "chip" cards.

I've had an account with Navy Federal for as long as I've been alive and they're consistently the best bank I've used., December, 2016

My parents opened a savings account with NFCU right after I was born. They were the first company that would accept me for a credit card because I had been a member for so long. They have great rates and their customer service was great. I chose to go with them for an auto loan because they had a better loan rate. When it came to choosing which company I wanted to go with for a home loan, I went to them first and shopped around. They offered the best interest rate while also having a 100% financing option, something no other bank was offering at the time. Getting set up with them was incredibly easy and hassle-free. Unfortunately, NFCU isn't an option for everyone but if you're eligible to become a member, I highly recommend them.

NFCU has all of the services I need and has generally been responsive when I have required assistance., December, 2016

I signed up for NFCU when I was in Navy boot camp in 2007. A representative came to speak to our group of recruits, the only other option was we were told to bring a blank check (for acct/routing #) with us when we shipped out. It may have been possible to set up direct deposit at my hometown bank, but obviously it was more beneficial to have banks on military bases where I might be stationed. NFCU has always given good rates and had reasonable fees, but higher interest than I would like on personal loans and/or credit cards, which is why I got an additional account with USAA. However, the main benefit of NFCU is that they have a LOT of physical locations in proximity to military bases domestic and international, and there is even one where I am currently living in Ohio, which is about 5 hours away from any Navy base. The major benefit is that you can go to a location and get cashier's checks or a debit card replaced on the spot. Additionally, you can always get a real person from the US on the phone 24/7 and it usually doesn't take more than 5 minutes to resolve any issue. I have even called for a last-minute emergency loan and had the money within an hour. I have not had any experience with home or auto loans, and I know that is a point of contention for others. So, NFCU is not perfect, but it's pretty darn good, especially compared with Wells Fargo, US Bank, or some of the other shadier "big banks".

This bank is just for me., December, 2016

One of my friends recommended this bank to me. Every time I go to a branch of this bank, I am very welcomed with a great smile. Application process was very simple and helpful. Fees are very low. I got very high credit card limits with low APRs. I got a car loan from this bank. APR was much higher than I expected for this loan. Probably it was about my credit history but I was expecting lower rates. I have a checking account, saving account and two credit cards from this bank. I opened saving accounts for each of my kids and my wife. And my wife also asked for credit card and she also got very high credit limit. She is also satisfied with this bank. Also I recommend this bank to my friends.

I have had had superb service from this bank., December, 2016

I am a joint owner of an account with this bank, as my husband was in the Navy. They have excellent customer service and are always willing to help with any problems that may arise. If you should have difficulties making payments towards their loans or if you accidentally go over in your checking account, they are more than wiling to offer and reduce payment plans until you can resume full payment.

They offer fantastic programs and low interest rates on all of their loans. I'm not sure of everything they offer, but have been given information quickly and in depth when requested.

The only small problem we do have is finding locations to deposit and ATM, since my husband is no longer in service and we do not reside near a military base. However, they do still offer simple phone picture deposit on checks, but we are still charged every time we ATM as there is not an available ATM in our area that coincides with Navy Federal.

It's been pretty good., January, 2017

For the most part we have had good experiences with this bank. On occasion we have issues with the app and bank's website updating to show our current balances. They add on random fees that aren't valid too. I've had to call many times to dispute small things like this, but they always fix it. We have auto loans, savings accounts and a personal loan with them and the interest rates are fairly good. I like using this bank because we're a military family and they're at nearly every military base around the world. It's easy to find one, if not more, of these banks near military installations. Their staff is always courteous and the facility is always nice and clean when we need to go in to the bank to take care of business.

Navy Federal Credit Union has been a great bank to me., January, 2017

Banking with Navy Federal Credit Union has been a positive experience for me for the last 10 years that I have been a customer. I have used both online and in-person services and each time the service has been great. I am treated with courtesy and respect when I bank in-person, and each of my concerns have been resolved in a timely manner. I enjoy the ease of having a mobile app as well that lets me make deposits into my account without having to driving to the bank itself. I like that they communicate with me whenever there may be an issue and we can come to a resolution quickly. My transactions are usually handled pretty quickly and within a reasonable time frame. I had once had an issue where my direct deposit from employment was delayed and I was in dire need of funds and after speaking to the manager, they had released half of my expected direct deposit amount that same day so that my family and I could get the things we needed. I will continue to use Navy Federal Credit Union.
