It has been fine., October, 2016

I have used this bank for many years. I do not get charged extra fees. It has done everything that i need it to do. There has been no negative actions so far taken by the bank. When i have had problems they were quick to fix it. Once i used my card at a gas station. Within minutes they called me from fraud protection. They cancelled my card and made sure that nothing was taken out of my account. I was able to get a new card that day without anything negative happening to my account. Another time someone got a hold of my card number and order things online. I was able to get the money back and make sure that in the future my account was safe.

Very pleasurable and conflict free over many years., October, 2016

This has been my bank for well over a decade now. It is where I had my first account ever. I have been with this bank through a merger, and they only got better when this happened. The staff is very friendly, and willing to help. Although some of the fees can seem high at times. They do not offer a free checking account, and lines can be an issue. I like that they offer the free coin counting machines at their locations because this saves a lot of time from having to roll all of it and bring it in. The manager has been the same at the branch I go to so it is comforting to know that I will see a familiar face whenever I enter my bank.

Our experience has been above average, great hours and convenient locations make us happy., October, 2016

I have been a customer of TD Bank for many years. I love the hours and locations, it makes it very easy to access money whenever I need it. I also like the mobile banking app, it's very convenient to be able to make deposits with a few clicks on my phone. The fees are on the higher side, but we have a free checking account and never have overdrafts and try to only use TD Bank ATM machines to avoid these fees. The interest rates for savings accounts are pretty low compared to other banks in the area, and I believe the APR on loans is high, but we have never obtained a loan from this bank. Overall we are satisfied and plan to continue banking with TD Bank.

    mostly good, November, 2016

By and large, the bank is good. It is open early, closes late, and is open on Saturday and Sunday. Also, there are many convenient branches. The lines are sometimes long, but most of my interaction is via the ATMs. I particularly like the fact that when I deposit a check in the ATM (I frequently use my mobile to take a photo) I don't need an envelope.

The only negative experience - and it was VERY NEGATIVE was that the bank would not accept for deposit a check. I once I cashed a third party check for a friend. It was drawn on a major US bank, but made out to my friend. The amount was not great ~$150, and I had several thousand dollars in my account. I was not trying to cash the check, just deposit it. I suggested that they put a "hold" on the money, but they refused. My friend lived in the Netherlands, and had returned by the time that I wanted to deposit (not cash) the check.

Fortunately, I had an account with another bank, and they agreed to deposit the check.

Had I not had the other account, I would have had to present the check for cash at my friend's bank.

This was just annoying, not critical.

This bank has fantastic customer service but high fees., December, 2016

We chose TD bank because they were close to our home and we needed to switch banks because ours had no locations in South Carolina. We were very impressed with the level of customer service we received when opening our account. They did not try to sell us anything and included my children in the process and made sure they were very entertained. I received a standard checking and savings account. I was disappointed to hear that the fee was $5.99 a month and there was no way to waive that fee. The savings account fee of $5.00 can be waived with an automatic transfer each month. Overall, though, the bank is great. The customer service is fantastic. The ATMs are convenient and there are no fees. The bank is open really convenient hours and The customer service is available 24/7. I would recommend this bank for someone looking for a bank account, that maybe doesn't have the best credit or is just starting out.

My experience with TD Bank has been mostly satisfactory over the years., January, 2017

I wound up with TD Bank as my bank because my original bank had been bought, then another bank bought them, then that bank was bought by TD Bank. I just stayed out of inertia, I suppose. I dislike TD Bank's high minimum balance to avoid account fees. I always feel like I've got money sitting in my account that, even though it's mine, I can never touch unless I want to start getting hit with fees. As far as my local branch goes, the one closest to my house is convenient. The one time I did have a problem with the ATM, it swallowed my card and wouldn't spit it out, I was able to go inside and get it resolved quickly and to my satisfaction. Overall, I'm happy enough to stick with my current bank.

I have had a positive overall experience with this bank., April, 2017

I have not had any major issues with this bank. I have been with them for at least ten years now. My family uses them. Their customer service has been good for as long as I remember. There's been no issues there. I can usually rely on them to address any concerns I may have in a timely fashion. The only issue I have with them would be their bank fees. However, their fees are not much higher or more ridiculous than most major banks available to me. Where they may have high fees in one area, another bank will have high fees in another area. Their interest rates are fine and their application process is simple and easy. I have recommended this bank to others in the past. Overall I am satisfied with this bank.
