    My experience has been great, always low cost, and friendly people., September, 2016

    I first started calling around to start a new savings account about a year ago, i called several local credit unions and their fees were very high for me (monthly fees, excessive minimums, and separate fees for checking which i wasn't planning on opening, but i wanted the option). I finally called the Golden1 office to ask what kind of accounts they had. They were very nice, explained that the minimum amount in a savings account was $1.00 and they had free checking accounts.

    I made an appointment and went down to the branch about half a mile down the street. The representative was kind with me (considering i didn't have any financial knowledge at all), and helped me set up both a savings and checking account. I have only had to go into the branch a couple times (because of their convenient ATMs) but every time has been a pleasant and quick experience. I think their interest rates are a little low, but i do think they increase with the amount in your account, which absolutely makes sense to me. Overall i would (and have) suggest Golden1 to anyone who says they need a new account.

    i love it, September, 2016

    i have never had and issues with the bank. The tellers are nice. I once had to change account and it was easy. The banks are clean they give out free coffee. They are fee free. I joined because it was part of my husbands job.

    I love the bank app because its easy to use. I always look at it and put my checks in there since im paid every week. Its very convenient. You can also pay your bills from the app.

    My experience has been very good., November, 2016

    I am very happy with my current bank. My parents use The Golden 1 and have for a really long time. I was signed up for a savings account when I was very young. I had some difficulty with my last bank, so I wanted to switch to something else. I remembered that I had this savings account so I called and inquired about opening a checking acccount. Because I was already established, it was surprisingly easy to open my checking account. My deposits become available very quickly. At least a day sooner than they would be with my previous bank. Their web portal is much better than my last bank too. Making transers or external payments is easy. Even their app is better than my last bank. I used to have to type my long, complex password into the app every time I wanted to use it. Now I have a custom PIN I can quickly punch in to view my balances. I'm very happy with the change overall.

    We have had great service., November, 2016

    We initially started with this Credit Union for an auto loan we took out. We were pleased with the easy process and they provided excellent interest rates. After the application process, we then proceeded to open another checking account as well as two other savings accounts. We appreciate the online availability and ease of transferring money through our various accounts. We also love that there are more than 4 branches and atm location within a 2 mile radius of our home. Another advantage is that we can use other atm machines through other credit unions outside of our area without fees! While they aren't one of the biggest banks, they have always greeted us with respect and kindness. There is a great feeling about going into a local bank and that they know who you are and the ages of your children. We love this bank.

    I have had a good experience with this bank., December, 2016

    The customer service has been excellent. They always inform me of new products and the tellers at my local branch remember who I am. I have a monthly transaction that is a little tricky and they are always not only patient about it, but most of the tellers know what I need when I come up to the window. I have only ever had one teller who was difficult to deal with and the manager was watching and stepped in. I have not seen that teller since. So there have been no problems. I have had to call costumer service a couple times on the phone for various reasons and they are always polite and courteous. The few problems i have had have been resolved quickly. I have been very happy with all my accounts there and have even had both my children open accounts there. My only complaint has been the interest on the money market account. But that has really nothing to do with their policies. They give the same low rate of interest and as everyone else.

    Golden 1 Credit Union is not the best., December, 2016

    I am not happy at all with my local Golden 1 Credit Union bank. Many times when the bank is close and I need to use the atm machine, its either down or broken. When I inquire as to why its broken I am told that it got too full with money. But this happens almost every single week. I prefer to make my deposits at the ATM when its convenient for me and not have to go inside the bank. When I go inside the bank most of the time the lines are long and most tellers appear to be doing nothing important at all. It can take over ten minutes inside the branch and I think thats poor service. One time I got a fee for overdrawing my account and it was a real hassle just to get the fee removed as a courtesy. I was treated really bad and insulted just for wanting the fee taken off. I know other banks will be nice and remove the fees with no problems as long as it's not all the time. I will be looking for a new bank as soon as possible, but living in a rural area near Yosemite there are not as many choices for banks as I would like.

    It's been pretty good. I like it overall and they are helpful. The employees even are honest about what I should do for the best rates even if they don't have them., December, 2016

    I have had no problems. They are open and listen. I am very happy with how they help every time I need help. I only have a problem with their call center, but they have plenty of branches for me to stop by. I like hwo friendly and helpful they are when I need help or advice when getting loans or different financial products. I really like the rates on loans, but their savings rates are deplorable. I use a separate credit union for my savings that gets me 7% on my deposits up to 100$, because that is a lot more helpful for my financial goals. I hate the application process since it's so poorly put together, but the products are too good to pass up when shopping around.

    Excellent service with the feeling of family., January, 2017

    This Credit Union is the one my mother has used for many years. My first experience with Golden1 was to refinance an auto loan. The rates were lowered incredibly and enabled me to keep my vehicle. The very next day I closed my checking and saving accounts a a big name bank and switched everything to Golden1. This has been the best decision and I could not recommend it more strongly to others. I have known one of the ladies who works in the Gilroy, Ca branch for most of my life so being able to do business with someone I trust is a huge bonus. Even though I moved four hours away I still find the choice to be beneficial. The online banking service is exceptional and makes depositing checking from home very simple.

    It has overall been a good experience, no complaints from me, April, 2017

    I think the bank is a good fit for me. I am a student so the bank was able to offer me a student checking and savings account. There is also an option they give students that includes getting a credit card as well. Sometimes there are issues with the ATMs but I don't think the company can always be ready to fix the machine when it goes down. An issue with the bank is that most of the locations are located up here so when I need to withdraw money at a different location I may have to pay an extra fee. Customer service is generally good, when I walk in the bank I usually am able to leave pretty quickly. I was recommended this bank by my mother because she also has an account with the bank
