My experience has been wonderful., September, 2016

First National Bank in my opinion is a wonderful bank. They make you feel very comfortable and acknowledge you when you walk in the door. Its a small town bank where everyone knows your name. They are always willing to lend a helping hand from balancing your checkbook if you need it to helping you with your deposit. Everyone smiles and says hi. Children are welcome and they are always giving out suckers or taffy. Their loan officers are friendly and will help with anything. When you call up the bank you always know who your talking to and its a friendly hello. They know how to make you feel just as important as anyone else that walks in the door I highly recommend this bank to anyone looking for a good hometown bank.

Looks good at first, lots of hidden fees and bad rates, September, 2016

I've been with Wells Fargo for going on three years now. After moving away from home for school, they were the most prolific bank in the town where I was living. Most people had decent things to say, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

The sign-up process was very easy, I'll admit. I was able to transfer all my funds from my former bank to Wells Fargo within a day, and the process went smoothly. I signed up for a very basic account; checking and savings. I quickly learned that not only were the savings account interest rates abysmal compared to other banks (and especially credit unions) there were fees that I was completely unaware of when signing up, and that were buried in the terms of conditions.

I will say that their online banking is a nice service, as well as the mobile app, but after seeing how much I've been losing due to fees and charges, I'm very likely to switch very soon to a local credit union.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with this bank., September, 2016

One time when I had my PayPal account hacked that was attached to my checking account, funds were stolen from my bank account. I was able to resolve the issue with one phone call to Wells Fargo and the fraudulent charges and associated fees were reversed. I was impressed at how easy it was to resolve such a scary issue. I anticipated that it would be very cumbersome and that I would still owe overdraft fees. This was not the case and my account was swiftly corrected. I feel grateful that the process was so simple and it eased my mind for the chance that a similar situation may occur in the future. I have never experienced any fees and I can transfer thousands of dollars per day to any other Wells Fargo account free of charge.

Wells Fargo has been a very good bank and the employees have always taken the time explain any of their financial services and helped me consider all options., September, 2016

I have banked with Wells Fargo for years. I first opened an account as a child with the help of my parents. Starting at the age of 12 I began working as an umpire for little league baseball so my parents wanted me to learn about how to responsibly save my money by depositing my earnings in a savings account. It wasn't until I was an adult, and finishing college, that I truly began to explore and utilize the other services offered by Wells Fargo. I applied for and received a credit card and also utilized the Wells Fargo student loan consolidation services. My student loan interest rates were originally 7% through the primary loan provider and I was able to attain a consolidation loan with an interest rate of only 4% which I was happy with. My only complaint would be that my credit card interest rate was boosted from 9.99% to 29.99% for no particular reason. My utilization habits of my credit card have always been good, so this change, with little explanation has dissuaded me from using my Wells Fargo provided credit card.

For the most part the meet all the needs I have and good customer service., October, 2016

So I was with a bank called first interstate that was acquired by wells fargo quite some years ago. Throughout the years I have maintained a checking account with them but also have received car loans and such. They have great customer service and about the only thing I can say bad is that they at one time had large overdraft fees and would post checks before deposits. That didn't last long and I was not happy about that as weren't many other customers. They were very helpful when I bought my first used car and not having to deal with FI at the car dealerships. I have heard recent news of their fraud with opening up fake customer accounts which gives me obviously some concern so as much as they have been helpful to me over the years I may or may not be staying with them.

Overall experience with Wells Fargo has been positive., October, 2016

I am very satisfied with the products this bank offers and pleased with customer service. Since opening my account with this bank, I have had issues where merchants double charged my debit account, as well as a fraudulent debit charge. Both times Wells Fargo quickly responded to the problem and even issued me a credit to cover loss of money until the dispute was closed. I've always been treated with respect and consideration and have nothing negative to offer. The lower score for fees I gave is related to overdraft charges, which I feel are too high. I also wish there was a Wells Fargo closer to my location. After moving this year, the nearest one is a 20 minute drive. Weekend hours could be extended as well because I do not always have time during the week to visit the bank when I need to.

    Great, October, 2016

I switched to Wells Fargo from Bank of America based on the recommendations of my business partner. We were creating a business checking account at Wells Fargo, so it seemed to be (and has been) easier to bank personally there as well. Overall, I've been quite impressed by their service. It has been easy for me to bank, both online and using the mobile app. There's only one thing that I wish they would improve. The credit card rewards programs are far inferior to other offerings, especially Chase's credit card reward programs. Because of this, I rarely prefer to use either my personal or business credit cards with Wells Fargo. I wish they would improve these programs to put them on the par of Chase's excellent Ultimate Rewards program. But beyond that, banking at Wells Fargo has been an excellent experience and one I plan to continue in the future.

I have never had any issues with them and they have always been reliable., October, 2016

We started using Wells Fargo because it was near our home when we moved to a new city. It was very friendly and easy to open our first checking accounts with them and then went on to create our saving accounts as well as saving accounts for both of our children with them. We also took out a line of credit loan with them that allowed us to remodel our home. The process was very easy and quick. I also enjoy the easy online payment options they offer which make paying and schedulding payment of bills much more convenient. Depositing checks via our cell phones has also been a pleasureable and convenient option. We have since moved from the city where we opened our first accounts with Wells Fargo, but we still sought them out and maintained our accounts since then.

I have had great experience with this bank over the years., October, 2016

I have been a customer of Wells Fargo for over 19 years. They have always provided quick, prompt customer service. They have always been very courteous and respectful, always conducting themselves in a professional manner, whether online or at a physical location. They are very knowledgeable about their services. My account is always credited with deposits with no holds. One time when I had fraudulent charges over $3000 charged to my account by a third party, Well Fargo opened an investigation and credited my account back with the $3000 within two days of my notifying them about it. I know with some other banks, that can take two weeks or more. And their fees are minimum, not as much as many other banks. In fact, I am not even charged a fee for my checking account. In my experience, Wells Fargo is very dependable and trustworthy.

It has been a great experience., October, 2016

I first came to hear about this bank from one of my cousins who got a job there and the fact that it was conveniently located in front of my home. I was the first person in the family to try out the bank and have been nothing but pleased with my experiences. I have lost my debit and credit cards quite often and there is always no hassle to cancel my card and get a temporary one. I also appreciate that they take the time to sit with you and go over your purchases to see if you approved them. I like how their lines aren't long and there is someone there willing to help. One negative aspect is the fact that this bank is nearly impossible to find outside of my state so it makes traveling a bit complicated.

My experience has been overall positive with Wells Fargo., October, 2016

Given that I am only twenty years old, this is second bank that I have ever had an account with officially. But since I have been a customer for about two years, I have had a pretty positive experience with Wells Fargo. I haven't experienced abnormal fees, or unfair charges. I've been pretty happy with the service of my bank. My local banker is professional and always prompt, no issues or mishaps. I love that ease of usage with the mobile app, and the ATMS. All I could ask for with my current experience with banking. I especially like that it's easy to have a free checking and saving account. They have different options that I can use to waive the fee that associated with having an account with them. Wells Fargo has been an overall positive experience.

Good overall - fees are a bit high but no problems with the bank itself, October, 2016

My first bank account as a teenager was with this bank, so when my wife and I needed to open a joint account it made sense to open it with the same bank. We went into a local branch in my hometown where we used to live and the process was fairly easy - it could have been easier. Our customer service representative was really nice and helpful - this is really the extent of my interaction with the bank's customer service department. We've never had any problems with the bank itself or the online banking features. The fees are a bit excessive but to me it's worth it to have easy access to our accounts at ATMs across the country. We will most likely take out a mortgage for a house with a local bank as the rates are better.

I would greatly discourage anyone from using this bank., October, 2016

Simply put, this bank is atrocious. I've never experienced worse customer service or such deceptive business practices with a company before. Often, I will make a purchase or pay a bill and the amount will immediately be debited from my account, like it is with other banks. So far so good. However, what Wells Fargo does on a routine basis is immediately reverse the charge, putting the money back into my bank, making my available balance artificially higher than what it actually is. As a result, I go overdrawn once in awhile. I realize it's my responsibility to keep track of my balance, but in my opinion this is a plainly deceptive practice. Also, I have had to dispute several transactions that have gone through due to fraudulent reasons. Yet, actual, legitimate charges often get declined at the cashier due to "possible fraud" - resulting in me having to make a call to the bank, prove my identity, answer a bunch of questions, hold up the line at the store...finally to be able to pay for my groceries, or eye shadow, or whatever it was I had the audacity to actually want to purchase with my own money. This bank lives in the stone ages. They outsource the customer service, and the people who answer the phone are not only difficult to understand but rude on top of it. Stay away from this bank.

Experience has been mostly satisfactory., November, 2016

Beyond having a place to keep my money, I don't have too many direct encounters with this bank. There are plenty of things i dislike about Wells Fargo, even if they weren't in the news every other day for criminal acts. My checking account requires a minimum balance or that I make ten transactions a month--one or the other or I get fined $10 (in banking a fine is known as a "fee" apparently). The second or third month that of having this account, I apparently didn't use my debit card enough times nor was my balance considered worthy enough I was indeed charged ten bucks. I had a fit and it was reversed and I swore I would switch banks. Unfortunately this is the only bank near my house and I did not follow through on my little threat. But the mindset of this corporation is very clear--bilk the customer at every opportunity. I also find it infuriating that while banking is 90% online these days, Wells Fargo does not process transactions on weekends. So when I use my debit card on a weekend, it is considered "pending" until Tuesday. This makes it a little difficult for me to understand my true account balance at any given time. Certainly no paychecks are processed over a weekend which is also extremely annoying. I still remember having checking accounts that actually paid interest. I remember using small, local banks with incredible service. Being a customer of Wells Fargo makes me miss the good old days of banking. My biggest fear with Wells Fargo is having an issue where my debit card is somehow compromised and my account cleaned out and I have to actually rely on their customer service to resolve the situation. I know in advance that will be a horrible week.

This is the only bank I have ever used, and they served me well for the past 12 years., November, 2016

This is the bank that my parents have used since they first opened an account, so naturally we, their kids, used it when we got our first accounts. They have provided good service over the past 12 years. They provided with a loan for a new car at a very low interest rate, that I was able to use as leverage when buying the actual car. I opened a business account with them, when I was planning to start my own business, and when that business did not get going and they were starting to charge me account fees, they forgave the fees, when I told them about the situation and I closed those accounts. They gave me advice about opening a new account to use in online transactions, in order to avoid anybody from being able to take all my money from my accounts. They in bank service is also very good and they take their time to help you.

It has been a fairly pleasant experience., November, 2016

My experience with Wells Fargo has been interesting. My father passed away and my mother moved up to be near me. They had a checking and savings account with Wells Fargo. Still being in a state of shock over my father, we went to a local branch along with the death certificate. The manager there was wonderful. I really didn't know what needed to be done. He spent a great deal of time with us, and took us step by step through what needed to be accomplished. He was really helpful and his advice was spot on.

Since then, I needed to go into the branch because of my own error. They were nice, but there were some issues. They told us to wait in some chairs, which we did. A half hour later, they asked us if we were waiting to see a banker! Also, when I had to go back, the banker who had helped me was on a break, and they all told me only he could assist me. So, I left. When I called, he told me he would be out of the office for a week. When I returned, he was helpful and made sure that everything was correct.

It has been a good experience., November, 2016

I originally opened my checking account there because I was moving from Indiana to Texas and wanted a bank that I could use when I got there. The checking and savings accounts they offered me had zero fees if I maintained a minimum balance or had direct deposits. I was able to meet those requirements so I pay zero fees. My friends wife was a branch manager there which also influenced my choice. One last thing 4 years ago I used them for my mortgage and they closed my loan in 25 days which is unusual for a larger bank. We were in a time crunch and they went above and beyond to get my loan funded. Based on these experiences i have had a very positive relationship with them and would have no problem recommending them to an acquaintance.

They are a typical big bank - safe but you have to watch out for some of their offers., November, 2016

They took over First Interstate and that is how I ended up with them Their locations were fairly convenient and their service was pretty good. I had to complain a few times about credit card annual fees, which were removed. If I hadn't I am sure they would still charge me for them. Back in 2008 , before the big crash, they pestered me for a "personal service" consultation. The rep tried to sell me on a "line of credit" which would place a mortgage on my home, which was paid off at the time. They wanted an absurd payment to maintain this line of credit, and I had no intention of mortgaging my home to them, so I declined. Good move on my part as thousands of people lost their homes through this scam when the economy collapsed. I trust them about as much as I do any bank. That is not much considering recent revelations into their practices.

It has been a great experience., November, 2016

My experience has been great with this bank. I have been a customer for over ten years and they have always been very helpful and has great customer service. If I am ever having a problem with my account or have a question, they are always there for you and willing to help you with whatever problems that you are having and work with you to resolve your problems. One time I hadn't realized that I had no money in my account when one of my bills came out of my account and I had several overdraft fee, and when I went in the banker helped me out and called someone to reverse one of the fees and helping me out. I love going to this bank and I know that I am in good hands and they won't screw me over.

This bank is hit or miss., November, 2016

I have been banking at Wells Fargo for over 14 years. For the most part they are a ok bank to bank with. I don't have regular problems with them. When I do have problems they are not always the best at handling them. My account was hit by fraud last year. Whoever accessed my account ended up draining my checking and savings account. I called their customer representative number to explain what was going on and to report a claim. The representative took down my claim and closed my accounts. He told me that I needed to go in to speak to a representative at the branch. I went in the following Monday and the branch representative told me that they have submitted to the claim but it was being denied because I had no prof that I was not the one making the charges. I told the lady there was no way that I could be making the charges because they were happening all over the world. The lady said there was nothing that they could do but open up new accounts. Luckily why I was sitting there the people were trying to make charges on the account that was supposed to be closed the Friday before. The branch rep told me I was lucky that they were still trying to access the account because it was proof that I was not the one doing the charges. I did end up getting a refund for all of my money but then had to go back and fight the to remove the insufficient funds charges. This is just one of the things that I have had to deal with, with Wells Fargo. I would not recommend them to anyone, and I would not bank with them if I did not live in a rural area the has very few options for banking.

It has been an average banking experience., November, 2016

I chose this bank because it was the one my parents used. I don't have anything negative to say about my experience with them, but I haven't been blown away with anything either. I've had no problems with my checking account, savings account, or credit card with Wells Fargo however, I would say that there are better banks out there. Their credit cards are nothing special. There are other banks that provide cards with better perks, such as sign up bonuses and higher points per dollar spent. I have also moved on to another bank for my credit card needs because of this and I would not go back. The checking accounts are not bad for someone that earns a stable income, but I have noticed that the minimum amount required to be kept in the account is quite high. Remember to ask what the minimum is and If you are worried about not having enough for the minimum, then I would suggest taking your business elsewhere. Overall, nothing that good about banking with Wells Fargo, but also nothing that bad about it.

It has been consistent, and reliable., November, 2016

I started at this bank when I was a teenager. I got an account here because it was less than 5 minutes from my home, and the location couldn't be beat. Over time, I went from just checking and savings accounts to getting a credit card through them. When it came time to purchase a house, our loan was financed through them. Then when it came time to refinance our house, the loan was eventually bought by wells fargo again. When I opened joint accounts with my mother and father in law, we went through wells fargo. All of my automatic bill pay accounts are tied to my wells fargo credit card, and for any account that I use online bill pay, but it is not an automatic payment, I do it through my wells fargo account. It is so convenient having all of my major accounts all in one place!

My experience with Wells Fargo has been wonderful in all aspects., December, 2016

At the time I moved to Wells Fargo I was using another bank that was neither geographically convenient nor satisfactory in terms of checking account fees. When my now-husband and I started cohabitating, he did not have a checking account, and after doing some research we decided to both open accounts at Wells Fargo, because there is a branch less than 2 blocks from our home and the checking fees, while steep, have been waived for both of us each month due to meeting certain criteria. The banker who opened our accounts for us also happened to be the personal banker of my husband's former boss, so that connection made it a little more personal for us. I have never had any negative issues in the time I have been a Wells Fargo customer and I don't anticipate any going forward. I am much more satisfied with Wells Fargo than I was with my prior bank and will likely be a Wells Fargo customer for the rest of my life.

My experience has been great., November, 2016

All the employees at Wells Fargo know me by my name. They are a very professional work crew as I have always had my questions and concerns always answered in a short timely manner. I have got a couple of personal loans from Wells Fargo. They immediately accepted my loan applications with no questions asked to me.

I like the way Wells Fargo treat me. They have been the best bank I have ever done business with. I would highly recommend Wells Fargo to anybody about my positive experiences with this bank has been.

Using Wells Fargo Bank has improved my credit score from average to very good. I think wells Fargo truly want to help people with their banking needs. My overall experience has been outstanding. I'm very happy with Wells Fargo banking in all aspects.

they have been acceptable but not outstanding, December, 2016

I became a Wells Fargo customer when my small bank was taken over by them. At first, they offered the same free checking and had the advantage of so many extra branches. However, I rarely use an ATM nor go to the branch for any business, so the multiple locations became less advantageous as they got rid of free checking and have little fees for everything. With my business checking, I have to have a savings account with it and transfer the same $150 back and forth between the accounts each month to have free business checking, but there is no free personal checking at all. I pay a minimum of $2 a month to get my check images, plus other fees if I don't have a minimum balance during the month. When I do go in for business, there's usually a fairly long wait. I've looked up other, smaller banks in town that do give free checking, but I've never gotten around to changing. I should do that.

I have banked at Wells Fargo for over 20 years. Up until recently, I was a happy customer. Then I mistakenly transferred money from my credit card to my checking. I thought I was transferring from my brokerage account to my checking. The credit card and the brokerage both have the same name. I've been told this mistake is made frequently. Wells Fargo charged me a cash advance fee of $350 even though I immediately alerted them of my mistake. This fee has been on my account for over a month now. I've spoken to four customer service reps who all told me it would be removed but it hasn't. I'm giving them until the end of this month then I'm closing my account and all my relatives will be closing their accounts as well.

My general experience has been neither excellent nor poor, but I am not confident in Wells Fargo given their business practices., December, 2016

I got an account with Wells Fargo when I needed to switch banks due to an unpleasant experience with unnecessary overdrafts. I had just started a new job and Wells Fargo was the check issuer, and offered employees at my job a checking account without fees for new accounts. I have had no major issues with Wells Fargo myself, but I am considering switching due to their treatment of veterans and the recent issues that have come to light with their unscrupulous business practices. Overall I do like that I have been able to avoid monthly fees. I also really like the mobile app, because I deposit checks through it frequently. I do wish that they had no ATM fees regardless of who owned the machines. Every experience I have had with individual tellers has been quick and pleasent. And the few times I have needed to call them, my issues have been handled quickly and professionally.

    Simple and stable., November, 2016

I would say that my experience with Wells Fargo as a customer has been largely free of complications or significant obstacles to what I wished to achieve through them with my accounts. I have only very rarely encountered problems with my accounts at Wells Fargo, and these problems were almost without exception problems relating to account security in which I had cause to suspect that this security may have been compromised. My experience with such occurrences was not a consequence of Wells Fargo's own practices but instead related to the general use of the cards or to circumstances in which no particular event could be associated with the questionable activity that I discovered. Whenever I would raise such concerns, Wells Fargo would cooperated with me and send a new card as needed.

It was OK, no better or worse than any of the other FDIC national banks i'm sure., December, 2016

Well banking with Wells Fargo has been regular I guess. They have recently decided to charge me a $5 a month checking fee since I no longer use direct deposit, which kind of annoys me. Since I have been letting them use my money for years to make money. I was with Wachovia originally, then they became Wells. It's only gotten worse for me since the transition. I use other banks too, better, local, credit unions. I keep Wells though because it is necessary to have a national big bank when traveling. That is the only reason I am still with them. Like all big business they want to pretend they are all about customer service but in reality that only applies for the wealthy. If your middle class or less expect them to try and take whatever they can from you.

I have been a long-time customer and have had a generally positive experience., December, 2016

I have held bank accounts with several banks that have progressively taken over by larger banks over the years. My account is now held with Wells Fargo. I appreciate the convenience of online banking, ATM locations, and friendliness of the tellers in each branch. After I got married, my wife and I opened additional checking and savings accounts, and have enjoyed the convenience of having these accounts linked and able to pay our bills electronically through online bill-pay. Because of our several accounts with this bank, we were also able to get a favorable auto loan the last time we purchased a new car. I appreciate having all of our funds in one place, and the ability to transfer funds back and forth through the online applications that Wells Fargo provides.

It's nice that they have locations all over the USA but their excessive customer service and heavy-handed sales techniques suck., December, 2016

I only signed up with them because it is convenient that they have locations in so many cities and states (I travel a lot for my work). Actually having to interact with their employees is always awkward and frustrating. Typically what happens is I go in there and the employees are all being super over the top friendly to me like they're forcing it. I don't want to take part in an inauthentic interaction, you know? I've noticed that the tellers always use my name like 20 times while I'm doing transactions, so I suspect that's a requirement of their job to kind of kiss up to me and use my name a lot like that's going to make me feel more valued as a customer or something but I just find it transparently fake and very depressing. Plus, they always start asking me all sorts of intrusive questions about how I pay my bills and other things related to my money. If I make the mistake of answering the intrusive questions, then they come in with some product they're being pressured by their bosses to try to talk me into signing up for. I wish that instead of making their employees be all fake and pretend to be my friend that they'd just let them be themselves.

I really don't have any complaints, December, 2016

Wells Fargo bought Wachovia bank a few years ago. The transition was pretty seamless, I don't remember having any difficulty with transactions.

I do have a savings account, but unfortuantly money doesn't stay in there very long to gain any interest. But it's not much, though that's common for a simple bank savings account. I do like the "Way to Save" feature they have. It automatically transfers $1.00 to your savings account every time you use your debit/credit card. I've been able to save some money doing that, and I really like that feature.

The checking account that I have is not what I'd call making me overly happy. I get a service fee of $5 every month because my balance is not high enough and I don't have a high enough direct deposit signed up with the account. Plus, I have overdraft protection, but I still get charged a small fee, even for the protection.

I only bank with Wells Fargo because I don't want to move all of my accounts., December, 2016

I haven't had the best experience with Wells Fargo. Everytime I go into one of their branches, I am left waiting for 30 minutes to an hour while tellers stand around and chat. I try to avoid going in their branches at all costs if I can deal with the situation myself or over the phone. Their customer service reps over the phone are wonderful and always take care of my needs, no matter what they are. I feel like I am scrutinized by the amount of money I have in my account. If you arent a wealthy customer, they pay no attention to you and are constantly trying to get you to open new accounts rather than actually helping you. If I had another bank that was in a convenient location, I would change banks.

It's been very good and I've had no real issues., December, 2016

The bank is amazing in terms of rates and fee's and how they got about their business and also the service there is just top notch and you cannot beat it at all. I like the way the handle everything about it. It's always nice to have a safe and secure bank account. I would totally recommend this to anybody who hasn't started banking or if they are planning on switching banks. It's always a good thing to always a good bank and whenever I go to the bank account and the whenever the bank has a issue they will let you know and text your phone and tell you anything you want to know. I just always feel safe and secure banking with Wells Fargo no matter what. Love the experience

I have had great service with this bank!, December, 2016

I have had a very long relationship with Wells Fargo Bank. I started using them when I was approximately 18 years old, they had a different name at the time but I cannot remember it. I've always been satisfied with their customer service, hours of operation, convenience of locations, etc. I decided to try a different bank for about a year and the customer service was not nearly as good as Wells Fargo. I don't see myself ever going to another bank in the future. I have credit cards through Wells Fargo also. The interest rate is great, I am very satisfied with their overall service. Well Fargo answers all of my questions and addresses my concerns. Wells Fargo has so many locations even in the other states that I often travel to. This makes it much easier to get my banking done even when I'm out of town. I will never switch from Wells Fargo to another bank again.

Wells Fargo has been sufficient as a standard banking institution., December, 2016

I have been using Wells Fargo for a very long time now. As a bank, Wells Fargo offers average rates and bank fees for their accounts and credit cards. Everything about this bank is rather standard and you won't really have any complaints as a result. On the flip side, you will be hard pressed to find anything that makes Wells Fargo stand out from other institutions. Their application process is standard and they have decent interest rates that are competitive with other similar sized banks in the United States. The bank fees are also very standard with a few being on the high side; overcharge fees for example. Their customer service is as expected from any company. There have been a few times when I have had some problems with their customer service however, with enough time and effort I can usually get my way. Overall, wells Fargo is an average bank at best.

Basic banking with a national bank with many locations, December, 2016

I signed up with Wells Fargo originally almost 20 years ago. I chose them because they were a large national bank with many ATM and branch locations throughout the area where I live. I was happy with the lack of fees when I originally signed up with them. After about 15 years, they started charging many more fees for the same basic checking services I had always used. About 4 years ago, I signed up with a different state bank to do a majority of my banking. My Wells Fargo account now sits mostly dormant and I plan on closing it soon. The interest rate given to me for the Wells Fargo Savings account is pitifully low. It's so low that I have almost no incentive to keep any money in the savings account at all. Overall I give Wells Fargo credit for having many locations and being easily accessible, but low scores for the fees and structure of their accounts.

    Amazing Experience, December, 2016

This is a great bank for anybody who wants security and wants to feel safe and secure with their money and banking online or banking in their local locations. Wells Fargo is a great bank that offers good rates and good fee's along with maximum security to ensure nothing happens to your hard earned funds. I've been banking with them for a year or two now and I've never thought about leaving I was recommended by some friends and family members to start doing work with them and the business has been amazing and maybe even that's a bit of a understatement. I've never had any issues with them what so ever. They have great customer service and their very respectful and helpful unlike a lot of other banks who have some very unprofessional people working with them.

On a daily basis I have not had any issues with this bank it fits all of my daily needs, December, 2016

I first opened this bank in college and over drafted my account (my fault) I closed the account without paying it off. When I tried to open a new acct I was told I couldn't because I still owed wells fargo. At that time I went to wellsfargo and paid what I owed and they said I should be good. Three years later I tried to open an account with my husband at a bank and they said I couldn't because I owed wells fargo money, even though I had already paid that money. They never cleared my name. I had to go to two different branches to get it settled. That frustrated me that it was not done correctly the first time. Aside from that one experience I have never had any major issues with the company. Website always seems to be running, when I go to the tellers for whatever reason they are friendly and promptly help me. Overall a good bank.

Not great, tellers are not knowledgable and opened several accounts we don't need, December, 2016

My husband and I opened an account at our local Wells Fargo because that is where his employer issues his paychecks. It seemed convenient for us to have an account there. When opening our account, the teller was slow and had printer issues. Due to the technical issues, one of our savings accounts didn't have both of us on it. We also asked for one checking and one savings account. Instead of having two accounts, Wells Fargo opened two savings and one checking accounts. We now know that they were not supposed to be doing this and have been penalized for this. My trust with this bank is very low and I am exploring my other options for banking. I am not impressed by the professionalism or knowledge of Wells Fargo employees. I would not recommend this bank to anyone.

My overall experience with this bank has been good., December, 2016

My overall experience with this bank has been good. The bank gets a bit neurotic about preventing fraud, much to the chagrin of customers like myself who find themselves explaining to clerks that the account has been frozen because of suspicious activity.

The bank is conveniently located all over the country. There are Wells Fargo banks all over the place. The bank has the ability to check how many times I deposit checks and make the process easier next time. I love the fact that my bank also updates deposits instantly. It makes it much easier to balance the checkbook when the amount reflected in the account balance is accurate. This helps me to pay my times on time and not incur late fees or overdraft fees as well. This bank helps me to keep my life in order.

I have been a customer of this bank for almost 20 years and used to love them, and now I am starting to hate them., December, 2016

I have been a customer of WF for almost 20 years. I have had checking accounts, savings accounts, business accounts, credit cards, student loans, car loans, pretty much everything but a home mortgage with them and I used to love to do business with them. There tellers were always friendly and service orientated and my relationship with them was very good. The last 5 years they have gone completely downhill and I have pulled everything from them except for checking and student loans. I have always paid everything on time and been a good customer, but now that doesnt seem to matter to them. I asked for a defferment on my student loans for 2 months which is allowed while I switched careers and they just said no, for no reason even though I have always paid on time and was in good standing. I do almost all of my banking online and their website gets worse and worse with every iteration. If things dont change then I am going to switch to a credit union and be done with them.

It has been very positive overall in that I don't have to worry too much about the bank charging me extra fees., December, 2016

My mom has her own business and used to bank with Citizens while I was in high school. But they kept charging her extra fees all the time and became increasingly difficult to deal with. So she switched to Wachovia which became Wells Fargo and then I followed suit my junior year when I opened my first checking account. The initial application process was simple and effortless. I remember I had to cash in some savings bonds to help pay for college and they told me to have a seat and wait for a banker and I was in and out in like 10 minutes. Every interaction I had with them was polite and they always answered any questions promptly. The only knock is they charge me a fee of $10 some months and not others so that policy really isn't clear to me.

My overall experience with Wells Fargo has been very positive and I feel I have been treated in a professional and helpful manner, December, 2016

I have a checking, savings, and credit card account with this bank. One of my favorite things about this bank is how modern they are. I love that I can use a mobile app to manage my accounts. Furthermore, when I have gone to actual bank locations, all of the employees have been extremely courteous and professional. In one instance, there was an issue in which there was an erroneous issue with my savings account, and the bank manager there went above and beyond to get that issue resolved. I really enjoy the cash back feature--having $50 or $75 come back to your account is awesome. My only complaint is that I am often bothered by the limits on transfers to and from savings account. I have gone over the limit a few time, and had to pay a fee, and I don't think there should be a limit on transfers when it is your own money.

    Friendly, December, 2016

I am a customer of Well Fargo Bank. Although, this Bank recently had a big problem with its customers and the Federal Government that led to the resignation of its CEO and many upper management staff, I am here to say that the bank has been good to me so far. I opened the account with them immediately I moved to the North East from the South West. They were friendly and all the staff were ready to help in any capacity. The account that I opened do not draw any monthly fees if certain amount is deposited monthly. So I am able to avoid paying monthly fees so far. In addition, I was able to obtain student loan for my daughter. I was expecting to have some problems, but everything went on smoothly with no problem. Overall, I feel that the Bank is a good bank.

I have not been a victim of their bad practices yet, December, 2016

I am thinking more and more about moving my money after the scandals involving Wells Fargo and the stories I hear about charges they refuse to refund other customers. It seems they have unfair practices I have not yet been a victim of but it seems it is only a matter of time. However, they do have good interest rates on the products I have with them and I have not yet had a problem with customer service. They also seem to be on top of all the latest banking technology which is important to me. I have been with them for over 10 years. I am looking into moving all of my services to a credit union. The credit union seems to have even better rates than Wells Fargo does.

I have had no problems or issues with this bank., December, 2016

This is by far the best bank that I have been a member of. One of the main factors in why I believe this is because of how convenient it is to open, close move money around and take money out from ATM's. For example, when you are a member of a Chase bank you typically need to use a Chase ATM. I can pretty much use any ATM and I will get no fee's. There are also no minimum's on any of the accounts so in a day to day basis, I don't receive any fee's. The only downside I can think of is there is no way for me to deposit cash into the account. I primarily work on checks and direct deposit for my work. I can't imagine ever switching with this bank. In five plus years I have never had an issue with them.

I have been treated well., December, 2016

I first joined this bank in 1980 and was a member for about 4 years. Then I moved and set up banking at another institution. When I moved back, I wanted to have a local bank, so I rejoined the bank, remembering how professional and helpful they had been in my past dealings with them. I took $100 in cash to the main office to open an account. When I walked in the door I was greeted with real enthusiasm by the main receptionist. She asked me how I could be helped and when I told her I wanted to open a new account, she set me up with a personal banker straight away - no waiting. He was very friendly and helpful and set me up with a new account withing a very few minutes. He made sure all of the legal requirements were met, created an ATM card on the spot, and sent me on my way with well wishes. Since that day, anything I have needed has been met without questions and quickly too. They are convenient, professional, and very helpful. I would, and have, recommended them to my family and friends.

Very good but things might be changing., December, 2016

I've had my bank account for a long time. I started it as a student and had one account for myself. Then I added an account when I was the representative payee for my father. Their customer service has always been outstanding. I've always loved the atmosphere when I've gone in. Once I had a problem with my fathers account because the social security office made a mistake and deposited the money too late to pay a bill. I went in the branch to explain and they graciously waived the overdraft fees which I was actually surprised about. I have been happy with this bank for years. Just last month, they said they were going to start charging a ten dollar fee for accounts, however when I checked mine they said they had waived that fee as well. I need to see if that was a one time thing or not, but I am pretty sure they will work with me to keep my banking needs addressed. They are really great and I plan on keeping them as my go to bank for a long time.

My experience has been horrible, December, 2016

I chose this bank due to the fact that it was close by my house and also had conveniently located ATM. When I first opened the account everything was good for the first month. After that is when the trouble with this bank started. I would use my debit card and the bank would not take the money out of my account right away or would not show the purchases that were made which caused me to get mixed up with how much money I actually had available and this caused my account to be constantly overdrawn. I felt like the bank purposely did this in order to charge high fees and in turn milk more money out of the customer. I tried talking to customer service about this issue and they repeatedly tell me the overdrafts were my fault and there is nothing they can do. Wells Fargo customer service is of no help.

Overall, I am neither hot or cold with this bank., January, 2017

This bank started off really nice. However, down the line I started to experience unusual activity with my account. I had to call several times about unauthorized purchases being made using the account. Then I had to get my debit card replaced. It took them over a year just to send one out to me (I had to called like three times asking for one). Then the way the bank goes in and rearrange your purchases can sometimes cause your account to go into overdraft. This too was a headache and I had to call their customer service line about this issue. Customer service is okay, except there were times when one representative would say or promise something and then it didn't happen. Then I when I called back, Wells Fargo didn't live up to what they said. This too was a headache.

I have had a very good experience with Wells Fargo., January, 2017

I had not had my own bank account for at least five years. My brother holds an account with Wells Fargo and he recommended them to me as he has had a very good experience with them. The application process was smooth and fast. I had some issues in my past with finances and was a little worried about opening a new account, I wasn't sure they would let me honestly. They did, however, with a few easy to follow regulations in place for a probationary account. I have had zero problems with this bank. No fees, easy access to ATMS and their customer service inside the bank is outstanding. Online banking is simple and keeps me easily up to date on the goings on of my checking account. The one problem I've had is that their Android app completely stopped working for me for awhile, and that was a bit frustrating. All in all I have had a very pleasant experience with Wells Fargo and I plan to bank with them for a long time to come.

The bankers at the local branches where I go are wonderful, but I am not happy with the interest I earn and the interest rates they charge on my VISA card, December, 2016

Wells Fargo acquired Wachovia Bank which was our bank in Florida. I loved Wachovia. They made things easy for me to understand and when I husband passed away in Florida, a Wachovia advisor at my local branch was very helpful to me with making arrangements to open a transitional account for my husband's remaining financial needs (in his name.) When I moved to Utah, of course, there is no Wachovia in Utah, so I banked by mail and over the internet with my Wachovia branch in FL. That was hard. Eventually, Wells Fargo completed all of their transactions to purchase Wachovia and my accounts were all transferred from Wachovia to Wells Fargo and then I could bank locally in Utah. That was a relief, although I missed the close personal relationships I had with Wachovia. Wells Fargo has turned out OK except they opened a Visa card for me that I did not as for. I kept the card because I could use the extra credit line, but I did not like the fact that the girl opened the account for me right as I sat at her desk and did not tell me what she was doing. I can't remember if I signed something for that opening of account, but I must have without realizing it. We were discussing something entirely different that had to do with an old HELOC loan we had in Florida through Wachovia which no longer showed on the Wells Fargo books. Anyway, over all, I am ok with Wells Fargo, except, as I said, they need to be higher interest on checking and savings accounts. I know none of the big banks pay higher interest but that should change, perhaps by government edict.

Overall I have had acceptable service from this bank., January, 2017

Coming from a credit union, I immediately noticed Wells Fargo does things a lot differently. I enjoy my Checking Account at Wells Fargo; however, I do not use the bank for much more than that. The interest rates are much lower than what I am accustomed to. When I bought my car, they would not work with me to finance it as I had no credit, even though I had kept my bank account in good standing with them for years. Whenever I need to go into the lobby for any transactions, the wait is extremely long and the customer service is merely okay. I have had some bad experiences with customer service with Wells Fargo as well. On a good note, I recently had some transactions posted on my Debit Card that I did not make and they alerted me to the possibility of fraud right away. They were very accommodating and efficient at removing the fraudulent charges quickly. The convenience of being able to find an ATM or bank location wherever I am is also a huge bonus for me as I travel frequently. They are also diligent at reminding me when my old savings bonds have matured and facilitate that transaction quickly with no hassle as well.

Extremely courtesy and professional bank., January, 2017

I have absoletly loved my experience with Wells Fargo. I switch banks when i went to college because my current bank was not around my college. So i thought i always see a wells fargo literally anywhere i go so why not bank with them. From that day forward i have been extremely pleased with my overall experience and in over 5 years of banking only had my identity stolen once. They even contacted me before i knew it was going on and resolved the entire issue and already had a replacement credit card sent to me in the mail. The smart ATM's that they have literally everywhere is also one of the biggest selling points for me. I'm somebody that if i want to go withdraw $20 i don't want to pay a service fee every time i do because my bank or any of there ATM's are no where to be found. And they have been awesome when it comes to travel because some places you have to let them know you are traveling or they will instantly cancel your card which is just too much security and ends up causing headaches for a lot of people but is not an issue with Wells Fargo.

Good, up until I became very poor and it became difficult to work with them., January, 2017

Every time I make a purchase with my checking count, a dollar is automatically withdrawn and put into my savings account, which is very frustrating as I am quite poor while I go through college. This wouldn't be a problem if there wasn't a withdrawal limit preventing me from getting those dollars back every single time.

I now mostly bank through paypal and keep my wells fargo bank alive just for the credit. It was very frustrating having to deal with this set up. It's my money, why do they need to play silly games with it? Also paypal is faster, and I can recieve money instantly, versus three to five days at wells fargo, which is frankly way too long to process money. I can't wait for the day when processes are handled hourly, rather than daily.

This bank treats you like your life is just an account number., January, 2017

This bank has done a lot in 2016 to shatter my trust. First, it comes out with advertising that disparages my chosen career. I am an artist and the loan advertisements encouraging young people to switch from a hopeful career in the arts to something with more "earning potential" is an absolute insult to me. Next, Wells Fargo had to settle with Los Angeles because it was opening fraudulent accounts for customers and immorally accruing fees from this. I have experienced this myself, as I've been encouraged on more than one occasion to open extra accounts with Wells Fargo for no reason whatsoever. And thirdly, Wells Fargo is invested in an energy technology that is quickly become defunct. I hope Wells Fargo loses its investment in these pipelines. As soon as I pay off my credit card I will be moving my money to a local credit union. I'm tired of being treated as a cog in your giant corporate wheel.

I do not trust this bank., January, 2017

I only use it out of convenience and because I haven't found a better option (I would like to join a credit union). I see it as a big business, their customer service is fake, and they only have their "self" interest in mind. I try to never go into this bank if I don't have to. Their "customer service" makes me cringe. I had a real issue while I was traveling abroad and they did nothing to help fix the situation. I lost hundreds of dollars in this situation because this bank was not equipped to work with a foreign bank to resolve the problem. So they just played innocent until I became frustrated and gave up. More recently, they were involved in the "account scandal" and I have heard reports about investment in the DAPL pipeline. I'm sure this is common for many large banks, but it is still something of which I am critical and do not want to support. This reflection has given me new reason to start looking for a new bank. Thanks!

I'd say about average, January, 2017

I've had accounts at this bank since I was six, so I never have fees. but they offer terrible services that I need as an adult. I've also joined a credit union so that I can get better rates on things such as my IRA, car loan and my future mortgage. Wells fargo's rates are significantly higher. I'm also not a fan of the recent poor and unethical practice by the bank in opening new accounts unknown to customers just to meet quotas. I don't really want to do business with an entity with such terrible business practices.

I will never take out a loan, open a new account, or get any type of service with this company. I've closed my credit cards with them and will eventually move banks completely after I buy a house in the next few months.

My overall experience with Wells Fargo has been extremely positive, I would recommend to my friends and family., January, 2017

I started using this bank when it switched from Wachovia to Wells Fargo. One of the best things about it is the transparency of fees. While there are fees associated with checking and savings accounts, there are several different ways to avoid getting them. The few times that I have had an issue with anything, the customer service has always been excellent. The operators are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Sometimes working with banks and customer service in general can be frustrating, but they are always very patient and understanding. I have also had my check card stolen and the process of getting those stolen purchases reversed off my account was so quick and easy. I got a replacement card almost right away and now feel very secure with my account. Overall, I have had a great long-term experience with Wells Fargo.

I enjoy this bank. I have never had a problem with it., January, 2017

I have been a customer of this bank since they bought my old bank. I have had a good experience with this bank and I am satisfied with the service I have gotten. I enjoy being able to use their mobile app to deposit checks because it allows me not to have to visit a branch and makes banking much more convenient. The bank went through a controversy recently, but I was unaffected by it and was satisfied with the result of the CEO stepping down and taking responsibility for the company's actions. Overall, I am satisfied with being a customer with this bank and plan to keep my accounts there. If someone were looking for a new bank, I would recommend my bank to them. My only complaint is that there is not a location within 20 miles of my house, so if I ever do have to visit a branch it is not very convenient.

    Bland., January, 2017

Despite being a loyal customer for almost a decade now, I've recently been debating changing banks. First motivating factor, recent undependable business hours, they took several unexpected days off for Christmas and New Years that other banks didn't close for, and they did so without notifying anyone or even hanging a sign with these unexpected closures. The second motivating factor pushing me to find a new bank is these ungodly fees. I have 8 accounts thru this bank, and every month I'm always charged 10 dollars per account, aka 80 dollars a month fee just to be their customer. Adding that up, that's nearly a thousand dollar fee per year just to be a customer while several of my friends get free accounts with zero fees. Third reason, their security gaurd pisses me off, he just stands there all day texting on his cell phone. Doesn't make me feel to secure!

My experience has been fairly good overall., January, 2017

For a long time, the bank was charging me a fee if my checking account went below a thousand dollars. I found out that they should have been charging me no fees because I was regularly having my paycheck deposited. They corrected the problem by giving me a different type of account, but they never apologized or offered to return my fees retroactively. They did open a savings account that i did not request. I only caught it because I got a paper statement in the mail. I called them, and they closed it. A year later I heard in the news that Wells Fargo was guilty of this practice on a widespread basis. One positive comment that I have is that their customer service phone line has usually been easy to reach.

My overall experience is not the most satisfactory, so I may change to a credit union., February, 2017

I opened my account back in 2003 in a different state. When i moved across country, I kept this account by mailing checks to the branch I regularly visited in my old state. Finally, after several years, they merged with a branch in my region and now they are all over the United States. They had different perks that I used too often, such as an advance system where i could have an advance within a couple of minutes, but the payback involved a huge percentage. Also, I found that my use of the feature was detrimental to my credit and they did not give me a loan when I applied for one five years later. Recently, I was overdrawn by three dollars and then another transaction went through for seven dollars, so they hit me with two thirty-five dollar fees. With their support of the Dakota Access Pipeline, I am heavily considering opening a line with a credit union, if they'll accept my credit history.

It has been uneventful- no problems., February, 2017

I have had no issues with Wells Fargo. I have a checking account and credit card that I use for backup when my main credit card is not accepted. I pay no fees on either of these services. I have also used my bank to get foreign currency before traveling internationally and that has also always been a pleasant and uneventful experience. There has been nothing with this bank where they have gone above and beyond, but they make everything easy so I don't have to think or worry about it. I use their mobile app frequently to both check my account status and also deposit checks. I have exclusively deposited all my checks through the app since that functionality became available which has made things much easier and substantially decreased my need to visit a physical branch

My overall experience with wells fargo has been pretty good., February, 2017

My experience with wells fargo has been pretty good compared to other banks i've had in the past. It has a pretty easy application process and it didn't take very long at all to get everything set up and ready. Along with an easy application wells fargo also has really good customer service. if i ever have any questions or concerns the customer service at wells fargo always comes through and answers my questions and takes care of what i need quickly and they are very friendly people there. If i could think of any downside to have an account at wells fargo it would be the bank fees. But at any bank you'll have then either way but wells fargo has been a very good experience for me so far.

It's been very casual and not stressful to bank with Wells Fargo, June, 2017

This is the first bank I have ever had and I have kept it for a long time, even during my younger years. Their fees for overdrafts are horrendous and it really taught me how to be more careful. All bankers I have had the pleasure of meeting have always been very nice and easy to talk to, they helped me a lot when I was applying for my first car loan and I will probably look to them in the future for any other loans as well. I have never had a problem ordering checks or getting help if I have accidentally overdrawn for the month, and they have even reversed overdrafts for me if it has been rectified quickly. I also have one of their credit cards, and I applied for the secured card a long time ago but it was never upgraded to unsecured even though my credit score is now high, so if I have any major complaints this would be it.

I have had a good experience with Wells Fargo as a customer., June, 2017

Over the years I've had a good relationship with Wells Fargo. The application process was very easy and the representative who handled it was very informative and friendly. Just about every in-person experience I've had has been very pleasant. There is always someone to greet you at the door and the tellers are always very quick to help me with whatever service I need at the time. The online banking is very easy to navigate and I'm able to get what I need done in a short amount of time. It's simple to check my account statements and balances and transfer money to others. I also spend a lot of time with the mobile app which is very convenient when I'm on the go. They also offer a smartphone payment system, Wells Fargo Wallet which is similar to Android Pay which can save time at the checkout lines. If I had one negative about my experience it would be the monthly fees, which to me are a little on the high side. I don't have a lot of money in my account to begin with so it would be nice if the fees were a little lower. There are ways to have the fee waived, but I don't meet those requirements.

Very nice customer service, felt like part of their, July, 2017

My past bank randomly closed my account and cancelled my card without my consent, so I had to find another bank as soon as possible. My fiance recommended Wells Fargo so I got a bank with them. As soon as I entered the bank everyone was super nice and welcoming. The employee that helped me set up my account was thorough and explained everything in detail. It took about an hour because they explained everything so much. The only thing I don't like is the 10 dollar bank fee if I don't use my account enough. My other bank didn't have a fee. I like the layout of the online banking, its easy to access and to find things. I like the display and how clean and neat everything appears on the site.
